Margaret J. Meeker (born 1957)[1] is an American pediatrician and author of books on parenting from a Christian perspective. She is a clinical assistant professor at Michigan State University. Meeker is a guest commentator on media programs.

Career

Meeker is a clinical assistant professor at Michigan State University.[2][3]

Her commentary on the rise of teenage sexually transmitted diseases has caught attention in education[4] and popular publications.[5] [6] Meeker is invited onto broadcast programs on the topics she has written about, such as The Today Show,[7] and the Ingaraham Angle[8] and she has a following in Christian fundamentalist groups on social and mainstream media[9] [10] [11] and former President Donald Trump.[12] Meeker is not professionally affiliated with conservative organizations. Several of her books are published by the conservative book publisher, Regnery Publishing.[13] Meeker has written on gender roles in parenting and in adolescent psychology. She was formerly a supporter of birth control and later changed her views.[13] Meeker cites psychological benefits as the basis of her support of sexual abstinence among teenagers,[13] her views are quoted in analysis of the impact of pornography[14] and the attitudes of the church to sexuality.[15] She has appeared on various media programs such as 60 Minutes, The Today Show,[7] Fox News's The Ingraham Angle,[8] Donald Trump shared another one of her appearances on Fox & Friends,[12] The Federalist, The Telegraph,and NPR. Meeker has over 600,000 likes on Facebook.[citation needed]

Meeker is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.[13]
