Panocrat

Dear @CommanderWaterford:,

I just noticed, that you declined my draft https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Panocrat. Please help me, because I'm new to Wikipedia and don't understand the policy and the comments:

A.) You are completely right about the fact, that "google does not know neither this subculture nor the panostern". But please take into consideration that 1. the subculture lived mainly before the WWW was invented or common, so most of the sources are print sources, 2. Even so, the keyword "Panokratie" has 4840 hits (and had over 52.231 hits in 2005) 3. Wayback machines like http://web.archive.org/web/20101106191002/http://forum.panokratie.de/index.php show the former hugeness of this subculture (>6000 entries and > 285 former panocrat members only in this forums).

B.) The first rejection explanation textbox says, that the article "do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject". But if scientific books, published in peer review by the renowned "Springer-Verlag" publishing house are no "reliable sources", what are reliable sources for wikipedia?

C.) The second rejection explanation textbox indicates, that the article "reads more like an essay than an encyclopedia article". I tried to maintain a neutral POV and I am unaware of any subjective information in this text, may be I'm wrong. So could you please give me an example, where to improve it?

I would appreciate help and may be a rethinking of the rejection due to the newly given informations! :-)

Kind Regards Kevin

Disruptive editing

Please stop your disruptive editing.

If you continue to disrupt Wikipedia, as you did at Protests against the imprisonment of Pablo Hasél, you may be blocked from editing. I wish you to document / watch / seek consensus first instead of disruptive editing. You have been pinged several times with proper arguments and you kept reverting my edits, so your editing looks like being disruptive. All the best, Laocon (talk) 12:28, 9 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Protests against the imprisonment of Pablo Hasél

Hello @CommanderWaterford:,

I dropped the "partof" line of the infobox from Protests against the imprisonment of Pablo Hasél. As I indicated in my edit summary, I removed that line since there is not any clear reference that states those protests against Pablo Hasél imprisonment are related to the Catalan independency movements, but rather to a debate on free speech all over Spain. For this reason, I think your edit should be restored, or at least explain / defend why such information should be added. If needed, I can mention this in the talk page of the aforementioned article.

Thanks! Laocon (talk) 16:04, 7 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

My recent edit being reverted

So the only issue was lack of citation? --scheuerman2 (talk) — Preceding undated comment added 20:27, 22 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Scheuerman2, "She is, ironically, believed by a great many people to be one of the largest racists and self-haters in modern history." Yes, you will need to source such statements, of course. You might have a look at our Policy for Biographies of living persons WP:BIO. CommanderWaterford (talk) 20:31, 22 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Just wanted to make sure that was the only issue and nothing else, thank you. I have sources I'll cite and I'll rephrase it for the sources

Thanks!

Hi CommanderWaterford,

Please could you help me with an understanding on which references need changing on my page creation for https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Tom_Bertram_(singer/songwriter)? I have realised that "Shawn Mendes" has a misspelling which I will correct on resubmission along with changes you require.

Many thanks, I hope you are well! MayerJames.

Im not using vandalism, even used sources for both articles

why u trying to stop my work?

Hi @Dantasu:, I am not stopping your work at all nor did I marked it as vandalism, you are simply creating BLP articles without providing inline citations and are marking them in your first version directly by yourself as being "unsourced and needs sources" - I put them into Draft so you can work on your drafts calmly. Please have a look at Help:Referencing for beginners and WP:MINREF, a biography needs inline citations. CommanderWaterford (talk) 23:21, 15 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Can you move Space industry in India back to the main space? It easily meets the criteria of WP:DYK now, since it has more than 1,600 characters. Raymond3023 (talk) 04:24, 16 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

WikiProject Musicians

Hi Commander! Regarding your recent edits to Talk:Said Senhaji and Talk:Phil Jones (musician), {{WikiProject Musicians}} is a redirect to {{WikiProject Biography}}, so you've effectively added {{WikiProject Biography}} twice to these talk pages. Both of these talk pages have now been fixed. Could you please only add {{WikiProject Biography}} with the proper parameters in the future? Thanks! GoingBatty (talk) 18:22, 16 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

P.S. Adding {{WikiProject Musicians}} adds the page to Category:Biography articles without living parameter, which is what drew me to the pages. GoingBatty (talk) 18:23, 16 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
GoingBatty, I see, did not know that, I apologise. It was showed to me as a template wrapper. Will not happen again. CommanderWaterford (talk) 18:27, 16 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
My use of the word "redirect" wasn't correct - you're correct that it's a wrapper. However, Template:WikiProject Musicians states that the template should always be substituted. Thanks! GoingBatty (talk) 19:05, 16 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

FAC: Love for Sale

Hi. Found your name on my watchlist and wanted to ask if you can comment on or review my FAC, Love for Sale (Bilal album). It has been stale for a few weeks, and there are ambiguous or reluctant takes on the sourcing in the article that could use further discussion. The criteria for featured articles is WP:FA?, if you choose to do so. Thanks. All the best. isento (talk) 11:33, 17 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Moving preliminary page to the mainspace

Hey CommanderWaterford. I was wondering why you re-directed a page from my sandbox to the mainspace. As you could probably tell, it was quite literally in its preliminary stages, and was not even close to ready for others to tag, categorize, read, etc. The page was User/Murphanian777/Preliminary football at Notre Dame. I'm sure there was a good reason, but I was hoping you could explain your reasoning. You have my best, Murphanian777 (talk) 15:36, 17 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Murphanian777, you accidentally published your sandbox as a mainspace article, I moved it into the mainspace assuming you wanted to have it there, let me know if I should move it back to Draftspace. CommanderWaterford (talk) 15:40, 17 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Ah okay, how strange. Thank you then, and yes, I would prefer it back in draftspace at this time. 15:47, 17 February 2021 (UTC)

article removed? I don't understand

Hello, I am trying to add a page about the DiSSCo research infrastructure, first it was on the list for deletion because of a "copyright infringment", ok so I completely rewrote it, in a style not in any way promoting, in my own words, with a lot of independent resources etc and it is still deleted?? I put a lot of effort in in getting all the resources. I was fan of Wikipedia but am getting very disappointing now. Can you please undelete so I can discuss in the forum how the article can be further improved if further improvements are needed. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Waddink (talkcontribs) 20:04, 17 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Waddink, your article was deleted by @Jimfbleak: because of a Copyright Infringement reported by @Sphilbrick:, you will need to ask them, also have a look at WP:COPY. CommanderWaterford (talk) 20:14, 17 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The copyright infringement report was for the 15 Feb version, deleted also Feb 15, after which I wrote an entire new version of the article Feb 16 (no new copyright infringement reported) but that was deleted Feb 17. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Waddink (talkcontribs) 20:19, 17 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Waddink, your draft has been rejected by me 15 feb at 09.47am, the Copyvio was reported on your second draft at 3pm and today it was deleted by Jimfbleak and I am more than confident that there was a good reason for doing so but you will have to ask them. CommanderWaterford (talk) 20:23, 17 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your suppprt, I have left a message for Jimfbleak. I have no clue how on earth this new draft could be a copyvio since I did not copy any text. Also I think the article gave a nice compilation of information about the subject that cannot currently be found anywhere else on the internet. Anyway, I will wait for a response from Jim because I think this is a misunderstanding. I still do not understand why you rejected it on the basis of missing independent resources though as I had included several. But that is fixable as there are plenty available. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Waddink (talkcontribs) 20:38, 17 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Short description character length

Hey I just wanted to say I appreciate you adding short descriptions, but can you please be mindful of the number of characters? Per WP:SHORTDESC, short descriptions should be around 40 characters. The description you added here, for example is 101 characters long. I took a look at your history and noticed this was a pattern. Please take note of the screenshot on WP:SHORTDESC which demonstrates how little space is given for these short descriptions in the user interface. Thank you. TarkusABtalk/contrib 20:56, 17 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

TarkusAB, Hi Anthony, thanks for noticing. CommanderWaterford (talk) 21:00, 17 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@CommanderWaterford: I see that you've amended your style to be somewhat shorter, which is appreciated. But I wonder if you would also consider going back and fixing some of the longer examples you previously created, rather than just powering through to additional articles? Someone is going to have to shorten all of the multi-hundred-character "short" descriptions like [1], [2], [3] (and many, many more). Thanks. -- FeRDNYC (talk) 00:12, 18 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
FeRDNYC, sure, I already made a query with the longest. CommanderWaterford (talk) 07:27, 18 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Refill problems

Hallo, Thanks for working on the bare URLs of Jennifer Yu Cheng, but there were a couple of problems:

  1. Refill2 broke the URL of the first reference. Please check for error messages after you've used Refill2, as the edits are your responsibility. (I've fixed this one - it mangled the URL of https://www.ctfeducation.com/about-us/leadership-team/ into https://www.ctfeducation.comabout-us/leadership-team/, ie lost a "/" (you might like to report this to the maintainers of Refill2?)
  2. References to web sites need to have an "Access-date". I understand that there's an option in Refill2 to include this, so please select that option. It's important to know when a website was used as a reference, because sites can change over time and it may be necessary to check for that version of the site using the Internet Archive, if someone wants to follow up the sourcing of the article. Thanks. PamD 10:50, 19 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Ah of course, no indication of the access-date, so nothing to use... though here I've added today's date as the article was only created today. The broken URL is more of a problem. PamD 10:59, 19 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Couple of tips

Hi CommanderW - just a couple of tips.

  • I see DGG pointing out a copyvio you missed earlier on. Do you know how to use Earwig's tool for this? If not let me know and I'll figure out which script you need to install.
  • I just came across an article you'd tagged as 'uncategorised'. There's nothing wrong with adding that tag - I mean, it was accurate - but for me it's the most useless of all the tags. It's just as quick to add a category or two and be on your way!

That's all, hope you're keeping well. GirthSummit (blether) 15:59, 19 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Girth Summit, good to hear from you, hope you are doing well. Thanks for noticing, Earwig is in daily use, today tagged several ones, unfortunately I must have missed that one. Stay well. CommanderWaterford (talk) 16:04, 19 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
CommanderWaterford, OK cool - I came here for the other thing, then noticed DGG's comment further up so thought I'd mention it. Cheers GirthSummit (blether) 16:07, 19 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Questions regarding more references for a film article

Hi, thanks for your comment on my submitted draft. I'm a bit new at this but I wish to improve, you mentioned that there's only one reliable source that covers the topic. I have found a couple of mainstream news/magazine websites reporting the shortfilm. But they are in another language, which is not English. Are they allowed to be cited as references? Thanks a lot! — Preceding unsigned comment added by ZeroApocalypse (talkcontribs) 10:21, 21 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

ZeroApocalypse, please have a look at WP:RSUE, non English are allowed, preferred are English-ones. CommanderWaterford (talk) 10:23, 21 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Pending change that you recently approved

Hey CommanderWaterford, you recently accepted an edit by an anonymous IP [4] on Brendan Eich. I believe the reason this page was originally protected was to prevent that exact edit [5]. --Elephanthunter (talk) 17:45, 21 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Elephanthunter, I only saw "Pinknews" as a source with only 1 ref referring to this controversial statement and it appeared to me pretty unreliable, so to be on the safe side I let it remove it but you are right, did not see the reason for protection. Sorry. CommanderWaterford (talk) 17:50, 21 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Elephanthunter, PS: Discussed this with the Sysop who protected the page and another one and both agreed on me. Better sourcing is needed. For now we will leave it deleted. CommanderWaterford (talk) 18:43, 21 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
did not process the questionableness of the source We need maybe a WP:RSN thread? I simply reverted to @Jorm:s version. As always, there should be discussion when there is uncertainty. And this feels uncertain. Sorry for the confusion. --Deepfriedokra (talk) 18:48, 21 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello I am just starting this page (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:A%C3%AFwa) that will be upgraded step by step. More things to tell about this band his 4 albums and almost 500 gigs all around Europe, Morocco and Venezuela. There is also a song on a big movie soundtrack. Please don't delete it and tell me how could I get it improved. Added a few more links (more to come) and will also add pictures. The page exists in French wikipedia but the band is more international and our community doesn't really read French this is why i began this page here. Thanks for getting back to me, waiting for the next review then!

Hi CommanderWaterford, I would like your candid advice on https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cheman_Shaik. It has been tagged with Afd because of a low Google Scholar score (h-index=5) and lack of strong general notability, but I believe as a computer scientist and inventor the subject deserves an independent article. The subject has 6 patents in the computer science field with USPTO. I have removed 4 inventions that are non-patented. ThanksWisdomwiki 40 (talk) 19:20, 25 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, CommanderWaterford. I hardly ever comment on the English of people who do not have it as a native language, but here I am doing it for the second time in a couple of days! I only do it when I think the person is at risk of being misunderstood because of it. Your comment next to anything mentioned before the importance of a Wikiproject Rating for a Draft does in no way speed up its review doesn't make a lot of sense as it stands: I'm guessing that "next to" is meant to say "contrary to"? "Next to" does not have that oppositional sense: here it could only mean "as well as", or "following just after". I too have been puzzled by the suggestion that putting a WikiProject on the Talk page can help to get a draft reviewed: I guess that the idea is that it brings it to the notice of the members of that WikiProject, and they might take a look at it; but it doesn't seem likely to improve things often. --ColinFine (talk) 23:12, 25 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

ColinFine, thanks for paying attention. In my assumption he tried to speed up the process of the review itself. Anyway the draft very unlikely will pass in its current state. CommanderWaterford (talk) 23:16, 25 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Request on 19:56:10, 26 February 2021 for assistance on AfC submission by Real Meanings

I am not trying to be funny. It is you that imagine the term "wink wink nudge nudge" is humorous. In fact it can present itself in a very offensive manner. Additionally this entry helps those researching literary terms (such as "phenomenological directedness") receive help they never otherwise get from their peers, who shut out all discussion with the use of archaic (excessively intellectualized vocabulary) to those entering the world of academia for the first time at an advanced level. It is no less than disgraceful to romanticize one way or the other about common everyday language especially when it is connected so immediately to meanings carried by unqualified (power mongering) pretendant "bearers of the torch". My description opens the door for people to learn what an everyday term is capable of meaning in higher end (generally widely inaccessible) vocabulary.

Now, if the entry I proposed makes you smile, well that is a good thing, because that means that you yourself learned something today.

Real Meanings (talk) 19:56, 26 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Real Meanings, I see, anyway in your draft sources were missing. You will need to provide sources for your draft and afterwards you are free to resubmit it. My Draft:Laura Byrnes

Hello sir, So my draft about a friend of mine who is a racing driver has been rejected twice now. First time, they asked me to remove the citations, which I did, but now you told me it needs citations. What am I supposed to do? Thx and have a nice weekend, Alex AB43racer (talk) 20:52, 26 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

AB43racer, your draft has been declined previously by the Reviewer Gpkp 6 days ago for the same reason I declined it today - you need to provide inline citation in a biography of a living person, please read the comment I left you on the draft: "Please have a look at Help:Referencing for beginners and WP:MINREF, a biography needs inline citations." Suzanne P. Clark Moved to Draft Space

I recently published a page for Suzanne P. Clark, which you were the first to review - I was hoping you could help me with the page's recent move to draft space, and my account being banned. She is clearly a notable subject, and I worked hard to contribute a useful article by the Wikipedia publishing guidelines, from WP:NCORP to WP:NPOV and WP:BLP (WP:RS I might add, as well). I don't understand why the page was flagged, moved to draft space, and I was banned - there are plenty of less notable figures from the chamber who have Wikipedia pages, particularly male figures. My goal was contributing to WP:WOMEN, and this feels like blatant sexism against inclusion of a prominent American businesswoman. Can you help? 37.179.164.49 (talk) 23:35, 26 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Tagging pages for deletion

Hello, Commander,

I was just looking at an article you PROD'd and noticed that you hadn't notified the page creator of the fact you tagged a page they created. I don't know if you utilize Twinkle but I encourage you to do so. Once you set up your Twinkle Preference, the program will automatically post a notification on the talk page of the page creator for any form of deletion (CSD, PROD, AFD/CFD/TFD/etc.). It makes the process very simple and so I encourage editors who are unfamiliar with it to give it a try. Thanks. Liz Read! Talk! 17:40, 27 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Liz, I am using Twinkle and (although it is not mandatory) it is always pre-selected to notify the page creator, it makes sense, strange. Thanks for noticing. CommanderWaterford (talk) 17:44, 27 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
No problem. I have probably posted a similar message on 100+ editors' talk pages. It's a common oversight if you don't have the "Notify creator" box checked. I'm probably a bit sensitive about this because the only time I was brought to WP:ANI was a few years ago for failing to notifying an editor who created a category before deleting it. So, I know how upset page creators can be when they don't know what happened to the pages they have created. Thanks again for all of your work. Liz Read! Talk! 21:11, 27 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
(talk page watcher)FWIW, last week TWINKLE would not let me apply pending changes. --Deepfriedokra (talk) 22:14, 27 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, CommanderWaterford. I was wondering what your rationale was for approving the draft Bugs Bunny's Birthday Ball. While the prose and formatting are good, there's only one source, and that's TV Tropes, which is essentially just a wiki. Per step 2 in WP:AFCR: "If what is written in the submission meets the notability guidelines (WP:BEFORE turned up basically nothing for me, but we'll pretend that's the case), but the submission lacks references to evidence this, then the underlying issue is inadequate verification and the submission should be declined for that reason."

As best I can tell, this just shouldn't have been approved and should be promptly moved back into the draftspace, unless this glaring issue can quickly be remedied in the mainspace. TheTechnician27 (Talk page) 22:51, 28 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

TheTechnician27, indeed, several weeks ago, one of my first ones of the last 200 and definitely not the best one. WP:BEFORE for Bugs Bunny Pinball Game returned several books mentioning it but indeed not this special one. CommanderWaterford (talk) 23:24, 28 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you & improve categories tag

Thank you very much for your kind welcome and very quick approval of my first Wikipedia article.
I have reacted to your addition of a tag advising the improvement of categories by adding more specific categories. Does the tag disappear eventually on its own, or does it need even more categories to disappear, or does it require action on your part or my part?
Best regards,

Your message included "Unfortunately, your edit to 2021 Myanmar Protests does not conform to Wikipedia's Neutral Point of View policy (NPOV). Wikipedia articles should refer only to facts and interpretations that have been stated in print or on reputable websites or other forms of media". Saying that something doesn't conform to policy is a warning. It may have been a correct warning (I haven't checked, but the correct link seems to be 2021 Myanmar protests) but you must take responsibility for what you say, whether in your own words or by issuing a template. A7 and schools

You are aware that this is not a school or educational institution, right? It's an organization/non profit that focuses on education but is by definition covered under db-org/corp and thus in the scope of A7. Not only that, it's a copyvio, advertisement and partially a hoax given its copied entirely from the mission statement of a completely different organization. CUPIDICAE💕 14:47, 6 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Praxidicae, your Diff is a dead link. It defines itself as an educational organisation and by means is not eligible for A7. Earwig gave me no Copyvio for it. But by the way I was wondering about your Copyvideo CSD of a 2 sentence article an hour ago or so which has been deleted meanwhile, I was reminded many times that an article so short barely meets CSD G12 criteria. CommanderWaterford (talk) 14:54, 6 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
No, that is not what NORG or NCORP say. A company that focuses on education might consider itself an educational organization but it is not exempt under NCORP or NORG. It wasn't a school and if you did any amount of searching, you'd know that. If you have a problem with my deletion tagging, feel free to bring it up at ANI. CUPIDICAE💕 14:56, 6 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Commander, it's a deadlink because the page was deleted per A7. I would urge you not to remove CSD tags that have been placed by experienced reviewers - better leave it to a patrolling admin to make the determination. Prax is right that the A7 exemption that applies to schools does not extend to any and all organisations that are concerned with children and/or their education. GirthSummit (blether) 13:32, 7 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Girth Summit, if I remember correctly the CSD tag was not placed by Praxidicae, they just noticed my removal and noticed me about my mistake. As you know CSD Tags can be removed by any editor but in general I sure do agree on your advise. I am aware of Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Schools/Criteria for Speedy Deletion A7 and after considering his message I do agree. CommanderWaterford (talk) 16:49, 7 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
No, it was placed by another patroller, who is a fifteen-year veteran with the NPP perm - in such cases, I'd advise you to leave it and allow an admin to review. GirthSummit (blether) 16:51, 7 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I don't know anything about this particular case, but I certainly don't agree with that "admin knows best" message. Anyone apart from the article creator can, in good faith, remove a speedy deletion tag, and we have certainly had admins who delete things that are tagged without checking them properly (it was after more than a decade of such abuse being regularly pointed out by me before one particlular admin got defrocked). When there is a good-faith disagreement then WP:AFD is the way to go for anyone who thinks an article should be deleted. Phil Bridger (talk) 17:10, 7 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Phil Bridger, thank you and I, too, do not agree on "admin knows best" since I come across every day with several admins and long-time editors who make a bunch of mistakes, in the end we are all humans and make mistakes (well, abuse is something completely different, of course) but I am sure that this was not what Girth Summit wanted to point out - they both are right, I should not have removed the CSD Tag although I definitely did it in good faith and the idea of being right. CommanderWaterford (talk) 17:22, 7 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Just edit conflicted with you there Commander. Phil Bridger, thanks for your input, but you aren't perhaps aware of the full circumstances - I have for the past few weeks been offering CdrW the odd piece of guidance, as part of an informal arrangement we came to when I unblocked them in January (not all of which has taken place at this talk page). This particular piece of advice, which I stand by as they build up their experience and the trust of the community, is part of that arrangement, and the Commander can take it or ignore it as they see fit. Best GirthSummit (blether) 17:26, 7 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
For clarification, this was unambiguously not a school nor could it be construed as such, hence my comment. The entirety of the article was copied from this source, which was copied in full about a completely unrelated organization, beginning at gap in urban India between... and ending at break out of the cycle of poverty. Draftifying Jyothikumar Chamakkala

I draftified an article you accepted because it lacks inline citations and seems to fall short of notability requirements. — jmcgnh(talk) (contribs) 13:53, 7 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Jmcgnh, I am sorry but the amount of ILCs were sufficient based on WP:MINREF and the subject is a member of the Indian National congress - what exactly made you believe to move it back to Draft ? CommanderWaterford (talk) 16:19, 7 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Indian National Congress is a political party, not a legislative body. As best I can tell, Chamakkala has not been elected to hold an office in a national or state legislative body. But Indian politics are sufficiently different from anything I'm familiar with that perhaps having a high position in a party is considered sufficient. — jmcgnh(talk) (contribs) 16:41, 7 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
{after edit conflict) Now, I'm not in favour of draftifying any articles when nobody has committed to improving tham, but I must point out that the Indian National Congress is a political party, not a legislative body. Phil Bridger (talk) 16:43, 7 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Phil Bridger, On IRC, we do have an engaged (COI) editor who is very much committed to bringing the article up to standards. But he admits that the bulk of the information in the article was provided to him by the PR team for Chamakkala and is otherwise unverified. — jmcgnh(talk) (contribs) 01:25, 8 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Jmcgnh, well he is also a General Secretary of this party but I agree, Indian Politics are very difficult to understand sometimes - so yes, in this case I agree and I apologise, thanks for noticing. CommanderWaterford (talk) 17:06, 7 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Once again: I know what I have to do. Please, refrain your urge to intervene within seconds after I've finished a translation. Maybe you'd be better inspired to work on articles such as Königliche Kunstgewerbeschule München. There are dozen of thousands of that kind on Wiki. I know your argument about the collaborative encyclopedia, but jumping on a new page is beyond participation, it's bad manners (being polite here). LouisAlain (talk) 09:38, 8 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

LouisAlain, once again - a such experienced editor should be absolutely aware when an article is ready to be published into mainspace - you are frequently publishing not yet finished articles into mainspace and then working on them for hours, tagging them as in use. Instead of giving me advise where to work I suggest improving your recent submissions which have several totally unreferenced sections. CommanderWaterford (talk) 09:42, 8 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Adding references, now that would be a collaborative attitude. LouisAlain (talk) 09:58, 8 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Warning: Three-revert rule

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing.

Comment: Nonsense. I asked the Editor to seek for consensus at the talk page which they did not and reverted twice my edits. CommanderWaterford (talk) 09:56, 11 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

This isn't some sort of game. While I'm inclined to AGF, I think this could be considered harassment of CW. Your thread is also very inappropriate. I advise you withdraw it before it gets snow closed. Firestar464 (talk) 10:21, 11 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Sure. You did several mistakes, beginning by taking it to the wrong forum, ANI is not for EW, not WP:AGF (once again). templating an experienced editor etc etc. but I let this up to an admin what to do with your account. If you have a content dispute the Article talk page is the right place to discuss this, thinking ANI will help you to push by any means your edits is a mistake made quite often. You should have learned from your previous block, that is one the reasons why they blocked you only temporarily. I like to spend my energy on more productive tasks here. CommanderWaterford (talk) 10:27, 11 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Let me give you some advice - you better remove immediately accusing an Editor like WWGB of acting biased. You really need to understand that no one wants to do you any harm but you cannot treat editors like this. Not even 24 hours after your unblock and you are starting again. Request on 18:31:24, 11 March 2021 for assistance on AfC submission by Sfournais

Dear Commander Thank you for your assistance with my recent submission on Jan Philip Solovej. Since there is already a wiki-page on that person in Danish https://da.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jan_Philip_Solovej and in German https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jan_Philip_Solovej, I believe that the subject should meet the criteria of Wikipedia.

So my contribution is really only a brief English version of existing pages. However, it seems that the best way to crosslink to other wiki-pages in other languages is to do so once the page is published (via the wikidata project). Therefore, I am waiting for the page to get published before I do the linking.Sfournais (talk) 18:31, 11 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Sfournais (talk) 18:31, 11 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Sfournais, I am afraid but in its current state there is no way of approving your draft, please follow the comments given at the Decline. Being published in other editions of Wikipedia does not mean that they will be published in the English one (they have sometimes different guidelines) and furthermore the mentioned ones do have other references than your draft. A Homepage is not a WP:RS. CommanderWaterford (talk) 18:36, 11 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
It is very easy to add some sources to this article about a subject who passes multiple counts of WP:PROF, so I have done so and moved it to main space where it belongs. Phil Bridger (talk) 19:00, 11 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, I allowed myself to add the missing categories and stub sorting. CommanderWaterford (talk) 19:06, 11 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for the barnstar

Some years ago I was very active, as you will see of you inspect old backlog drives. I had a several year wikiburnout, so I am by no means as active today. Not much changed here in the several year gap, though. I see symptoms of burnout when very experienced and respected editors suffer indeffing or topic bans. Wikipedia must be fun, otherwise it is like a job that never ends Fiddle Faddle 18:37, 11 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Timtrent, I totally understand you, especially if you see the messages of today running onto my talk page. AfC is a very thankless task, you are making mistakes (890 articles in the last 30 days reviewed, 2 were challenged for AfD, 1 fork and 1 Copyvio overseen) and there will be a reason why so few volunteers actively participate specially with an eye on the long experienced editors. CommanderWaterford (talk) 20:47, 11 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
We are allowed to make mistakes. All we need to do is to view a draft as standing a better that 60% chance of surviving an immediate deletion process. If I comment in an AfD on one of my drafts I tend to make that comment and stay neutral
We can miss copyvios, but we must not lose sleep over it. Someone else will catch them if we do not. We are just volunteers doing our best Fiddle Faddle 22:33, 11 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for the advise and will definitely make necessary updates as needed by the wiki. Would you please guide me if I can remove the sections for which I can't mention the references at present and publish the [Draft:Nikhileswar] for your review? In a future time, as and when I gather reference, I will keep updating. I think it would be fine. Anyhow, please advise. Request discussion wrt Draft R2 Sonic

This is addressed to CommanderWaterford

I understand that you have a concern about the depth of some or all of the references in the Draft R2Sonic.

My concern is that while this draft may be of small concern to a global group, it is very important to the non-governmental entities in the global hydrogaphic and environmental community.

The results, of hydrographic and environmental surveying, more so than the means of hydrographic and environmental surveying, are frequently the focus of conference presentations, scientific publications, and articles in industry magazines. Many individuals have heard, or seen, passing references of little more than the model number assigned to a piece of equipment, despite that equipment embodying major technological innovations in multibeam echosounders.

I believe the draft R2Sonic Wikipedia entry, if approved, would fill an existing information gap concerning the existence of multibeam echosounder features which are available and should be considered prior to the proposal phase of any new project related to hydrographic and environmental surveying.

Possibly more importantly it might answer the question as to why large companies (like Kongsberg and Teledyne) who supply hydrographic equipment do have their Wikipedia entry while small companies like R2Sonic are absent.

R2Sonic is a small company with about a dozen employees but what distinguishes it from other companies that manufacture equipment used in hydrographic and environmental surveying is that R2Sonic is a leading source of innovative design, not just a manufacturer of equipment. 20yrHTP (talk) 16:55, 13 March 2021 (UTC) §[reply]

Please notice kindly the decisions provided in the decline of your draft. Before eventually improving and resubmitting your draft you might be perhaps further interested in reading WP:COMPANY and WP:OTHERXIST. If you resubmit your draft another reviewer will check it. First, thank you for all of your work. You have an impressive edit count for someone who's been helping out here less than a year.

Second, when you are tagging stale drafts, please remember to check the edit history. Draft:Traci Callahan was tagged for deletion by you but had been edited earlier today. Undisker - why it's deleted without even reading?

The purpose of this article is to mention one of the oldest disk image tools for Windows (among WinImage or WinISO), mentioend in books from O'Reily and AMedia. It's doubtful who and why deleted the original wiki article from 2006 (without any proposals for improves or cleaning), keeping tons of clones with obvious advertising content (exist even now). But why is it deleted today is totally not understandable, sorry. Is it something personal? — Preceding unsigned comment added by DiskxpertDE (talkcontribs) 10:28, 14 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

DiskxpertDE, ? - No article of you has been deleted. Your draft has been declined and what makes you believe that the Reviewer did not read your draft!? Almost any disk tool had been mentioned in books of O'Reily in this decade. CommanderWaterford (talk) 10:32, 14 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry for being emotional. Things were not that complicated 20 years ago. Speaking about book references - most of modern disk image tools were created after those decade anyway. My goal is more historical than try to be up-to-date. I really don't know what exactly needs to be improved, could you please help me? DiskxpertDE (talk) 11:15, 14 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

DiskxpertDE, I suggest reading the notability guideline for software at WP:NSOFTWARE, you should perhaps more emphasise of presenting that it is (if) the oldest one (and prove it not only by the homepage of the tool itself which clearly is not a WP:RS, if possible). I will further tag it for the relevant Wikiprojects, sometimes you get help from there, too. CommanderWaterford (talk) 11:23, 14 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you! DiskxpertDE (talk) 11:44, 14 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Your GA nomination of AMC AMX III

The article AMC AMX III you nominated as a good article has passed ; see Talk:AMC AMX III for comments about the article. Well done! If the article has not already appeared on the main page as a "Did you know" item, or as a bold link under "In the News" or in the "On This Day" prose section, you can nominate it within the next seven days to appear in DYK. Bolded names with dates listed at the bottom of the "On This Day" column do not affect DYK eligibility. Rollback granted

Hi CommanderWaterford. After reviewing your request for "rollbacker", I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:

  • Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
  • Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
  • Rollback should never be used to edit war.
  • If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
  • Use common sense.

If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:Administrators' guide/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! Anarchyte (talkwork) 10:57, 15 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, thanks for assessments in two of my recent pages. I'm relatively new to wikipedia, but not to private wikis or markdown, and trying to get used to the wide-open (and intriguing, volatile) culture. Please let the page as it looks now because the info is true and correctly referenced. I know I didn't explain the changes I did, I won't do this mistake any more in the future. Updating BRM Definition Help

Hello,

I am attempting to update the definition of Business Relationship Management as it is seen on your page here. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Business_relationship_management As the BRM role and capability has grown and evolved, the definition of BRM has also evolved with the rapidly advancing global community. I work for the BRM Institute, the leading resource and home for BRMs around the globe. The source information is cited from our website here https://brm.institute/

I apologize for missing any steps in this process, I have never edited wikipedia before as I am in administration. We are currently working with Techopedia to update their BRM definitions as well.

Here are the newer updated definitions we'd like to add to the current BRM Wikipedia page.

BRM — Business Relationship Management (BRM) is a philosophy, capability, discipline, and role to evolve culture, build partnerships, drive value, and satisfy purpose.

BRM Capability — A Business Relationship Management Capability is everything it takes, both visible and behind the scenes, to nurture relationships in an organization, creating a limitless supply of energy necessary to evolve culture, build partnerships, drive value, and satisfy purpose.

BRM Community of Practice — BRM community of practice is a leadership team that supports others practicing BRM by establishing BRM standards, quality, thought leadership, and continuous improvement.

BRM Discipline — The Business Relationship Management Discipline is an effective application of knowledge, demonstrated through a set of competencies and mindsets to advance a BRM Capability.

BRM Philosophy — Business Relationship Management Philosophy is a belief that positive relationships drive value in organizations and contribute the greatest positive impact to economic value, people, and the planet.

BRM Role — The Business Relationship Management Role is the set of competencies required to advance the BRM Capability.

Let me know what else I can do to help you in this process and thank you again so much for your time and assistance! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2603:9000:8500:77EB:5508:4C0E:5DDF:9BFE (talk) 20:49, 16 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! Thanks for your supportive reply at my attempt to write an entry for Jackie Curtiss. While I understand Jackie may not meet the criteria for being significant enough to warrant an entry it's actually for this exact reason that I feel compelled to make a case for his inclusion. Although he was a significant contributor to the history of Indigenous rights and representation in the arts in the USA, due to systemic racism he has largely been erased from history because he is of Indigenous descent. It is only through a recent publication of a book on Indigenous Comedians entitled We Had a Little Real Estate Problem that he is being rediscovered and I would like to be a part of rectifying this with a Wikipedia article. Please advise if this deserves any reconsideration.

Hi CommanderWaterford, you removed my edit because you said that I removed stuff "without adequately explaining why". I did not remove anything, I only added on. I undid your removal of my edit.
