John Norman Lavis is a Canadian physician who serves as the director of the World Health Organization's Collaborating Centre for Evidence-Informed Policy and the director of McMaster University's Health Forum, where he also serves as a professor in the Department of Health Evidence and Impact.[1][2] He chairs the Advisory Committee on Health Research to the Pan American Health Organization.[3] He currently teaches the Health Systems and Health Policy course at McMaster University.[4]

Some of Lavis' work includes a "taxonomy of health system topics", and "surveys... that directly support the use of research evidence in developing health policy". [5][6][7][8]
