Samanea Yangon Market is a wholesale and retail market located in Dragon Seikkan Township, Yangon, at the intersection of Bago River Road and Yadanar Road. It is currently managed and owned by Samanea Group, a developer based in Singapore. It covers an area of 100,000 square metres, and has 730 retail outlets including restaurants.[1]
History
The wholesale market was developed by Samanea Group and Myanmar-based EI Company Limited with the permission of Myanmar Investment Commission (MIC) and Yangon City Development Committee (YCDC).[2] Samanea Yangon Market is referred to as Phase I of the development[3], and construction began in 2019. It was completed and officially opened to the public in November 2020. Phase II (staff apartments, boutique apartments, tenant warehouses, etc) is set to begin construction in 2021.

Accessibility
Samanea Yangon is located in the new development area in Dragon Seikkan. It is 15km from downtown Yangon, 16km from Yangon International Terminal, and 18km from Yangon International Airport.[4]

Market stores sell both wholesale and retail manufactured goods, including industrial electrical equipment, metal tools, lighting and accessories, furniture, automobiles/motor vehicles/bicycle supplies and accessories, jewelry, makeup products, apparels, mobile devices accessories, home appliances, sports and office supplies, homeware, textiles and daily necessities.[5][6]
