Project Overview:

I am going to be adding a section to the article titled “Consciousness”. This section will basically be about the viewpoints different scientists discuss while trying to determine the connection between quantum mysticism and consciousness; whether that’s proving, disproving, or simply stating the history. The overall point of this section is to give a non-biased understanding to those interested in the relation between consciousness and quantum mysticism.

Goals:

· I want to find one new source a week and create a summary paragraph similar to the way we did in the research question submission assignment.

· I want to have a variety of sources in both the affirmative defense and the opposing defense, and have a few sources regarding the neutral, historical/scientific side.

Objectives:

· I want to be able to give adequate explanation in a non-biased manner the facts pertaining to the affirmative defense for quantum mysticism and consciousness.

· I want to be able to give adequate explanation in a non-biased manner the facts pertaining to the opposing defense for quantum mysticism and consciousness.

· I want to be able to factually talk about the views of different scientists in the past regarding quantum mysticism and consciousness. Specifically, Einstein’s view and why he felt that way.

· I want to be able to talk about the mathematical theories regarding quantum mysticism and consciousness and why they’re so controversial in terms of acceptance and denial in the public’s view.

· I want to educate others as to what the relationship exactly is between quantum mysticism and consciousness and how it’s developed over time.

Requirements/Task(s):

· Task 1: I want to finish developing a foundation for the information I want to display in the section I’m adding to the article. I.e., I want to have some general idea of where I want to go forth in this section. I’m debating on whether I want to have subsections, multiple paragraphs, or if I just want to do it in list format. Basically, work on formatting while gathering some more sources for my research question. Also, in this week, I will find two more sources relating to consciousness and quantum mysticism and use them to help me complete the short-analysis assignment with my group. Edits will be made in the Wikipedia article every week at least once a week by me. Week 9 of the Wiki trainings will be completed and used to help create these edits and practice skills. (I think I’m ahead by one week in the wiki trainings).

· Task 2: I want to find articles that relate to consciousness and quantum mysticism through religion as that will be one of the main points in my submission to the Wiki page. Religion seems to have a lot to do with scientists’ views on consciousness and quantum mysticism as it’s the easiest way to explain the phenomenon of mysticism and consciousness due to the already common knowledge of spiritualism. I also want to begin formulating a summary on at least one or two articles so I can have it ready for addition into my Wiki Sandbox by the end of the week. Completion of the Peer Review from Week 9 of the Wiki trainings will be reviewed by me and used before publishing anything in the sandbox.

· Task 3: I want to have more summaries in my sandbox pertaining to the scientific viewpoint of quantum mysticism and consciousness, Einstein’s view more specifically. I want to have a few paragraphs overall by this point. Also, I want to have a summary paragraph of Manousakis’ article in my sandbox as well. I want to find another article on Einstein’s view of quantum mysticism as he was a great opposer of the idea. The religion view is a great affirmative defense, so I want to try to balance it out with some opposing articles before I jump into the scientific and mathematical side of this research question.

· Task 4: I want to have summaries for all my sources completed and I want the information to be in a coherent pattern so I can begin editing and drafting in preparation for my final product.

· Task 5: I want to proof-read all my work and make final changes before posting the final product for grading.

Notes:

I think I may have a hard time trying to summarize the mathematical approach to consciousness and quantum mysticism, but I still want to try to include it as there are lots of articles regarding actual equations for this. There is a lot of controversy and I think it’s important to try to show all sides of the topic.
