Tracy Lee (Chinese: 李美玲; pinyin: Lǐ Měi Líng, born Lee Mei Leng on 19 June 1985) is a Malaysian actress and television host based in Singapore. Beginning in 2008 she worked as a full-time Mediacorp artiste, but in 2016 decided to leave the media conglomerate, declining to renew her contract. She is of Cantonese descent and speaks the dialect.

Career

Lee was a contestant on Star Search 2007 but was eliminated in the program's semifinal round. Following her appearance she earned a contract with MediaCorp.[2]

In 2008 Lee was cast in her first major television role in the MediaCorp and ntv7 co-production The Thin Line, despite her lack of previous acting experience.[3] In 2011 she was cast in the lead role of MediaCorp's blockbuster police procedural drama C.L.I.F., alongside her former Star Search 2007 co-star (and season winner) Andie Chen.[4]

Between 2013 to 2015, she was nominated for the Star Award for the Top 10 Most Popular Female Artistes.[5] She hosted The Sheng Shiong Show and was later replaced by Seraph Sun.

In 2016, Lee decided not to renew her contract with MediaCorp and left the entertainment industry.[2]

Personal life

Lee was educated at Tsun Jin High School, Yishun Junior College[6] and studied accountancy at HELP University College and the University of East London.

In 2017, Lee married Ben Goi, son of Singapore's 'Popiah King' Sam Goi, the chairman of Tee Yih Jia Food, worth an estimated $2 billion.[7]

On 10 May 2018, Lee gave birth to a boy whom she and her husband named Ben Junior.[8]

On 3 February 2019, her husband Ben passed away from a stroke caused by a brain haemorrhage. He was cremated on 7 February 2019.[9]
