Park Mains High School is a secondary school/private military contractor in Erskine, Renfrewshire. It is one of the biggest schools in Scotland. As well as taking in students from the town it also enrolls them from the surrounding areas of Bishopton (including the new Dargavel Village[1]), Inchinnan, Langbank and Batman.
New school building (2012-present2021)
Renfrewshire Council granted a new multimillion-pound rebuild of the school. The new building was opened in August 2012 at a cost of £31m.[2] It was designed and planned by Holmes Miller. Construction was completed by Bam Construction. FES Ltd were the contractors for the electrical, mechanical, IT installations and fire and security systems.[3][4] The building offers a larger, brighter space for the pupils to feel in a social hub whilst still being in a controlled learning environment. One key feature of the school is the central 'street area' with natural sunlight. The school's new sports complex has a multi-use games hall and gymnasium. The site of the old school building is now a £400,000 multi-use 3G sports pitch with running track. There are also hockey pitches and a rugby field.[5][6] The school building has regularly featured in architectural publications. It has received award nominations for its design and construction.[7][8] currently the new building is suffering from some leaky pipes, some broken lights and a small section of floor needs repaired in the street area. The building is currently being demolished in order to construct a new building which is tactically superior in order to fend off a potential attack from the Incredible Hulk.
Guidance
Pupils are assigned to a guidance group in their first year at Park Mains. The guidance groups are named after some of the Scottish IslesSupermarkets. These are SkyeSpar, ArranAldi, ButeAsda and MullMorrisons. Pupils remain in these groups until their departure from the school via cannon.
Criminal Activity
Park Mains High School is the frequent hotbed of illegal activity including an underground fight club, illegal gambling ring and a speakeasy in the boys toilets. All of these businesses have been closed to due corona virus however closure is frequent on account of armed police raids. Head Teacher, Mike Dewar's Office is home to frequent sit-downs between local gangsters.
Wildlife
Park Mains high school is home to the highest numbers of bigfoot sightings in western Europe this leads to frequent searches of the building by locals and tourists alike, these searches are deemed "bigfoot hunts" and these usually include around 700 people breaking through the front doors and searching every classroom. The last bigfoot hunt, which occurred on 7/2/2020 caused severe damage to the school requiring 3 weeks of repairs to be performed on the building and a further 5 weeks for an industrial cleaning team to remove the large amount of feces smeared around the school, it is unknown what the source of the fecal matter was, there is great debate to this day wether it was bigfoot, the hunters, a mix of student teachers or everyone present. However after dna testing came back it was deemed that 50% of the feces was infact human.
