Geghavank (Template:Lang-hy; Template:Lang-az, anglicized: Ashaghy Purulu, lit.'Lower Purulu') is an abandoned Azerbaijani village in the Kajaran Municipality of Syunik Province of Armenia.[1] The village was populated by Azerbaijanis before the exodus of Azerbaijanis from Armenia after the outbreak of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.[2] Geghavank is listed as unpopulated in the 2011 Armenian census.[3]

Toponoym

The village was formerly known as Nerkin Pirlu, Lower Pirlu, Kend Purulu until it was renamed Geghavank in 1991.[4]
