Ronald Magada famously known as Maro,[1][2] is a Ugandan musician, songwriter and music producer.[3] Known for his songs Mubbi Bubbi ft David Lutalo, Raising star, Kyokoba, Anjagala and international features like Chip in featuring Mark Forster, Imani by BSMG among others.[4][5][6]

Music career

In 2007, Maro launched his solo musical career coming up with his first song Toneeraga featuring Mikie Wine.[7][8] His first collaboration song was with Blu3s in 2012.[9] Genda Ewaamwe was Maro's breakthrough song in 2013.[10] Maro had his first concert at Freedom City in August 2013.[11][12][7]

Early life and educational background

Maro was born in Buwolero village, Kagoma sub county in Jinja to Mr. James Magada and Janet Babuleka (deceased).[18][19] His father serves in the Uganda Police Force. His the 1st born in a family of 13 children. Maro attended to Nsambya Barracks School, St. Peter Nsambya, Bupadengo Primary School in Kamuli District, Light College Mukono,[20] Buloba High School where he sat for his UACE,[21] In 2015, Maro graduated from Makerere University with a bachelor's degree in Development Studies.[22][17]

Community works

He is a member of Vivaconagua (an international NGO based in Germany) concerned with providing clean water, promoting sanitation and proper hygiene and he has worked with Uganda Hands For Hope Namuwongo, Uganda Women Cancer Support Organisation, Inter Aid on Refugees and PLAN International with emphasis on girl child.[7][16]
