Mota Gharbi ( Urdu:موٹا غربی)[1] is a village in the Dina Tehsil (Jhelum) District in Punjab, Pakistan. It is about 11.3 km from Dina. The village has a population of about 1,771 and 293 households according to the Punjabi government. Two roads go to the village. The first one goes through Rohtan Fort road from Tehsil Dina and the second one goes through Khukha from a police station in Dina. This road was constructed in the 1980s by General Aslam Mirza but after left to decay, it was rebuilt under the rule of Pervez Musharraf. In 2020, the road was rebuilt again under the rule of Imran Khan. There are three mahallahs in the village which are the Bhurla mahalla, Apprla mahalla, and Sehno na Khoh mahalla. There are other settlements nearby, which are Dhok Gujral and Dhok Padhal.

Welfare Association

The Mota Gharbi Welfare Association (MGWA),[2] is an organisation in the village which oversees most of the village's work such as cleaning and repairing streets, growing trees and helping people in need. So far, the organisation has helped in the cleaning of roads which is done periodically, covering drains, and others. Currently, the solar street lights project phase one has been completed.

The motto of MGWA is "Mota Gharbi Green and Clean"

Govt High School Mota Gharbi[3] is located in Jhelum District of Punjab Province in Pakistan. There are a total of 356 students, 16 teachers, and 12 classrooms in the school. There are no computer labs and libraries for students. Ameer Sultan is currently the headmaster of the school.

Dams

A dam was built in Mota Gharbi to store rainwater. Dam repair work has been done by the Mota Gharbi Welfare Association. The current state of the dam is not going well according to the government and repair work will start soon.

Qabristan

There are several historic Qabristans in Mota Gharbi. The Qabristan in use now has graves that date more than a hundred years old. The planting of trees in the Qabristan started by Mr. Ismail Butt and the surrounding barbed wire was also laid with his efforts much increased the number of trees in the cemetery. Later, due to construction of the wall around the cemetery was further improved. From the beginning, people used to plant trees in the cemetery on their own, but after the establishment of the Mota Gharbi Welfare Association, the cleaning of the cemetery and growing new plants became systematic. Mr. Chaudhry Saeed Sahib built the Janazh Gah in Mota Gharbi Cemetery.

Public Call Office (PCO)

The PCO was the first telephone facility which facilitates 5 villages. Sub Aslam Mirza Sb volunteered to run this facility. [citation needed]
