Fakhr Al-dawla mosque (Persian:مسجد فخرالدوله) is a historic mosque in Fakhrabad street in the Darvazehshemiran neighborhood in Tehran.[1]
Builders
Construction on the mosque of Mirza Ali Khan Amin al-Dawla began in 1945 and lasted for four years. The monument was built in 1949 by the Lady Fakhr-ol-dowleh, in front of her house. Nikolai Markov, one of Iran's most prominent architects during the reign of Reza Shah, erected many buildings in Tehran and other cities. He also established the Honeysuckle mosque at the request of its founder Mrs. Fakhr al-dawla.[2][3]
Building
Decorated with tiles in cream, turquoise, and azure, the main building consists of two cube-shaped brickyards and a large main dome. The four half-columns on top of each brick building is a small dome of the building specifications.[clarification needed][4]
The situation today
Fakhr Al-dawla mosque is one of the most important mosques in the region and part of the identity of Tehran. The building of this mosque is in Iran's national register. In addition to worship, political events such as elections also take place at the mosque.[5]
