Karishma (Hindi: करिश्मा) is a feminine given name of Hindi / Urdu origin meaning "miracle". The name is said have its etymology from Ancient Greek χάρισμα (khárisma, “favor freely given, gift of grace”) and which in turn derives from the Greek “cháris (χάρισ)”, meaning “grace, kindness”. The Greek word related to "gift" turned into the Sanskrit, meaning to "miracle". According to Greek mythology, a Charis is one of the Charites (Greek: χάριτεσ) or "graces", goddesses of charm, beauty, nature, human creativity and fertility.
