"Uncited"

[edit]

Hello,

You are a new contributor and I see that most of your contributions consist in mass-deleting text claiming that it is "uncited". I fear this is not how Wikipedia works. If you do notice uncited paragraphs, you can add a "citation needed" tag, or, even better, look for sources by yourself and add them. Only when you get actual (and verifiable) proofs that the text is wrong then you can delete it and replace it with the correct content.

Thank you and best regards, FredD (talk) 07:54, 24 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I have a dynamic IP. I'm trying to clean up OR. While one approach is what you indicate, the way that Wikipedia works is indeed to allow for the deletion of uncited OR. There is zero need to let it remain - that's not the case. People are not entitled to sprinkle articles with uncited OR, and have it remain for a period of time - though that has indeed happened. Please feel free to restore with proper RS refs, per wp:burden. Any material lacking a reliable source directly supporting it may be removed and should not be restored without an inline citation to a reliable source -- if you think otherwise, you are mistaken, I must point out, so you do not inadverntently misstate the case to others.--2603:7000:2143:8500:BD06:7E54:94CE:C1B8 (talk) 07:56, 24 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
