War On Terror

Article doesn't include any details about the war on terror since the 80s. TAF has been fighting against Kurdish terrorists for almost 30 years. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.166.68.253 (talk) 13:11, 3 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

2009 split proposal

You must write B.C 200 to now our military history is like 2200 years.Turks and Chinese people are the first warriors. --- toolga —Preceding unsigned comment added by Toolga (talkcontribs) 20:34, 9 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

TAF is not founded in the years of war of independence..its history begins before the years of BC 150...The Huns and Gokturks were the some of anchient warrior nations of turkish race.. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.176.100.236 (talk) 01:17, 22 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The approach adopted by this article is muddled. I propose we spin off the timeline into a separate article, which can cover everything from prehistoric times to the modern age, using summary style (since the Ottomans and modern Turks have detailed articles). The present article can address the historical background in a separate section, which can start with a {{main}} link to the proposed Military history of Turkic people article. --Adoniscik(t, c) 00:00, 26 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

ARMY OF REPUBLIC OF TURKEY'S FIRST WAR IS NOT SUPPRESSING REBELLIONS

if first is fighting kurdish rebellions, then why not first sub-article is suppressing kurdish rebellions? look, the first sub-article is war of independence. so, we should write there "army of republic of turkey's first fight is war of independence". we shouldn't write "army of republic of turkey's first fight is suppresing kurdish rebellions". am i wrong? Modern primat (talk) 09:55, 22 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

If the Republic was set up in 1923 like the article says, then yes, you are. Konli17 (talk) 10:10, 22 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
So, we should delete "war of independence" section, because war of independence is before founding of turkey.Modern primat (talk) 22:41, 22 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
OK. Konli17 (talk) 23:28, 22 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
im wrong again... yeah, republic was set up in 1923 but state or government set up in 1920 with grand assembly. so, this "war of independence" section should come back(look revolution in russia and USSR). ALSO, we should add "war of independence" in first paragraph. sorry for bad english. Modern primat (talk) 21:09, 24 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

World War II section

The selected quotation from Ernest Phillips is unspecific about who the “we” referred to is, and without knowing Phillips’ nationality or the specifics behind his perspective, may lead to more confusion than illumination, particularly given the rarity of this text. Military history of the Republic of TurkeyMilitary history of Turkey – Turkey is a more common name as people knows Turkey more than the complete full name "Republic of Turkey". It should be renamed. ZaDoraemonzu (talk) 08:54, 25 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The article should also include the Turkish states before Turkey.

I read some of other versions of this article.(france, greece, germany..) And most of version of this article contains before the establishment of the modern countries. This article should likewise include the Turkish states before Turkey.(or atleast one of who close-father to Turkey. Like ottomans and seljuks. To expand, Gokturks too.)
