Europe is a continent that comprises the westernmost peninsula of Eurasia (commonly defined as extending from the Urals to the Iberian Peninsula), the Scandinavian Peninsula, Great Britain, Ireland, Iceland and many smaller surrounding islands in the North Atlantic Ocean and Mediterranean Sea.
