Mario Party Superstars is an upcoming party video game developed by NDcube and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo Switch. It will be released worldwide on October 29, 2021.[1] It is the twelfth installment in the Mario Party series.
The game will feature five remastered maps from the Nintendo 64 variants of the series; additionally, the game will include 100 remastered minigames.[2]
Development and Marketing
Nintendo revealed the game in a Nintendo Direct pertaining to E3 2021 on June 15.[3] The presentation both confirmed and featured the remastered "Peach’s Birthday Cake" and "Space Land" maps;[4] Polygon’s Ryan Gilliam noted that the boards included newly-added events. Moreover, Gilliam commented that the game borrowed assets—such as UI—from its predecessor, Super Mario Party.[5] The presentation also confirmed that Birdo will return as a playable character after her absence in Super Mario Party.
