Voodoo Murders (or VDM) is the main heel group in All Japan Pro Wrestling. The stable is composed of TARU, Shuji Kondo, "brother" YASSHI, , Suwama, D'Lo Brown, Buchanan, and RO'Z. There is also a masked wrestler named Voodoo Mask who mostly competes against All Japan's AHII. It is believed that various wrestlers have competed under the gimmick, the most common one being Kagetora. Giant Bernard, Johnny "The Bull" Stamboli, and Chuck Palumbo are also former members. They are famous for their violent actions and lack of respect for their opponents. Voodoo Murders were previously in a heated feud against RO&D which ended on September 17, 2006 when RO&D were forced to disband after losing to the Voodoo Murders. Shuji Kondo & "brother" YASSHI were the AJPW All-Asia Tag Team Champions before recently losing their titles to Kensuke Sasaki & Katsuhiko Nakajima. Also, Kondo is the current AJPW World Junior Heavyweight Champion. While the group still competes in All Japan, TARU, Shuji Kondo, and "brother" YASSHI have wrestled under the Voodoo Murders name in NJPW's WRESTLE LAND as well as Pro-Wrestling NOAH and it's SEM group. The rest of the Voodoo Murders are under contract to All Japan.
Although the phrase Voodoo Murders is thought to be Engrish by some fans, it seems to be a tribute to a pulp magazine called The Voodoo Murders.
Trivia
- Shuji Kondo and "brother" YASSHI are both graduates of Ultimo Dragon's Toryumon wrestling school.
- TARU, Kondo, and YASSHI all left the Dragon Gate wrestling promotion (formerly Toryumon Japan) around the same time.
- Although teaming with them in NOAH, SUWA is not an official member.
- English speaking online fans sometimes incorrectly refer to the group as Voodoo Murderers.
