Austin Katz (born March 19, 1999) is an American competitive swimmer who specializes in backstroke events. He is a World University Games gold medalist and a Pan Pacs bronze medalist.[1] At the 2020 US Olympic Trials, Katz placed third in the 200m backstroke behind Ryan Murphy and Bryce Mefford, just missing out on an Olympic berth. From 2017-2021, Katz swam collegiately for the University of Texas at Austin where he was a three-time NCAA champion and the current American record-holder in the 4×200-yard freestyle relay.[2]
