Cinderella III: A Twist in Time is the second direct-to-video film sequel to the 1950 Walt Disney animated classic Cinderella, after 2002's Cinderella II: Dreams Come True (although the film seems to completely ignore that the events of Cinderella II ever happened). The film is scheduled for release on February 6, 2007, although as of January 20, 2007 a rip of the film has been leaked onto the internet. On Disny.com you can watch 8 min.of the movie as a preview.
Plot
Lady Tremaine, Cinderella's wicked stepmother, one day finds her daughter Anastasia in the garden holding what she thinks is a stick, but is really the Fairy Godmother's wand. Anastasia, trying to prove the wand is magic, turns the godmother into a stone statue. Tremaine steals the Fairy Godmother's magic wand and reverses time, changing everything back to the way it was before - Cinderella still lives with Lady Tremaine. It is right when the Duke has come with the slipper, and the mice have almost got Cinderella out of her room. Lady Tremaine rushes the process along, and then uses the wand to make her daughter Anastasia's foot fit the slipper before Cinderella can make it downstairs. The duke then announces she will wed the prince, and leaves. She breaks Cinderella's other slipper as she comes down the stairs, and tells her to forget the dance ever happened. Cinderella is convinced though that the prince will remember who she is. Lady Tremaine then, when the prince says Anastasia wasn't the one he danced with, uses the wand to make him forget about Cinderella and marry Anastasia that night; the family then moves into the palace, leaving Cinderella at home. The mice, Jaq and Gus, who witnessed the event, tell Cinderella about her plot. Cinderella then sneaks into the palace, posing as a housekeeper. While she distracts her family, Gus and Jaq steal the wand. When Tremaine points out the maid is Cinderella, she orders the guards to capture her. The mice toss the wand to her, but if she catches it is still unknown.

Trivia
- This was Disney Australia's final feature (that studio was closed and equipment auctioned off once C-III production was completed in July, '06). Unlike the previous Cinderella II sequel mostly made in Japan (that studio also closed shortly after C-II's completion), C-IIIs' animators were given meticulous model sheets and extensive Live action sequences for animation reference, helping the characters be very well drawn.
- Though the film was scheduled for release on February 6, 2007, a copy of the film was leaked onto the internet as early as January 20, 2007.
- A lavishly illustrated book based on C-III will be available shortly before the movie is released (the shorter book version went on sale Dec. 26, 2006). Coincidentally, an overseas Disney division helping to illustrate the books was closed shortly after the books were completed.
- At the official website, a picture advertising the film shows the Wicked Stepmother in awe, holding the wand. In the background, one can see The Fairy Godmother- turned to stone.
- The film site was updated with music and pictures from the film.
- A coloring book "Cinderella III: A Twist in Time; A Perfect Fit" by Golden Publishing offers more plot hints from pictures loosely based on the upcoming DVD film.
- The evil stepmother (Lady Tremaine) ruining Cinderella's reality is similar to Back to the Future Part II, in which Biff Tannen ruins Marty McFly's reality.
- The film seems to completely ignore that the events in Cinderella II: Dreams Come True ever happened, particularly the events involving Cinderella's step-sister Anastasia. However, the film is set one year after the original Cinderella, and the second film never actually mentions any sort of chronology between it and the first film. Therefore it could be assumed that the second film is set after the third.
