Stanley Peter Dance is a prominent conchologist who has written many books and papers on conchology. He has had at least five shells named after him e.g. Acteon Dancei.[1]

Biography

He was born in 1932 and resides in Carlisle.

  • Member, Conchologists of America, 2010, 2012.
  • 2016, member Conchological Society of Great Britain & Ireland.
  • A former member of staff of the National Museum of Wales and his collections include shells from Britain, Florida, Borneo and material from the Arabian Sea/Gulf of Oman used for the book Seashells of Eastern Arabia. Collection in the National Museum of Wales.
