Inquiry about your removal of a wikipedia edit?
Hi Larry, I'm writing regarding your recent message on my first Wikipedia edit as below, I don't think I have written anything imbalanced or wrong. Really appreciate for your further comments, as I wish to write and share more on Wikipedia.
Copy/paste your message in my talk page: I'm Cordless Larry. Wikipedia is written by people who have a wide diversity of opinions, but we try hard to make sure articles have a neutral point of view. Your recent edit to Malaysians in the United Kingdom seemed less than neutral and has been removed. If you think this was a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Cordless Larry (talk) 15:15, 21 June 2021 (UTC) Thank you ANASPAUZI — Preceding unsigned comment added by Anaspauzi1617 (talk • contribs) 17:02, 21 June 2021 (UTC)
- Hello, Anaspauzi1617. I thought some of your wording was promotional (e.g. "is devoted to promoting comprehensive Islamic values and excellence"). The sources you cited were also published by the organisations concerned, whereas ideally content should be based on independent sources, which are about but not by the organisations. Cordless Larry (talk) 18:19, 21 June 2021 (UTC)
Notice of neutral point of view noticeboard discussion
There is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Neutral point of view/Noticeboard regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. Thank you. Dawit S Gondaria (talk) 13:42, 22 June 2021 (UTC)

Regarding Deletion
Hi Cordless Larry, you recently deleted an article G4 because of recreation so allow me to explain. The page https://en.wikipedia.org/enwiki/w/index.php?title=Raybak_Abdesselem&action=edit&redlink=1 was deleted in Jan 2021, I recreated it with 5 new news article including Olympics detail but instead of creating a draft I accidentally moved the page, so please undelete the page or move it to draft so it can be reviewed again. Deleting the page without being review is unfair so please restore the page and move it to draft so I can make this page better and few more references. I repeat the previous references were used but with the new one that says about the athlete in-depth even olympics.com has mentioned the athlete and Tokyo Olympics has featured him too. --Static Hash (talk) 06:07, 29 June 2021 (UTC)
- I'm not sure how you managed to accidentally move the page, Static Hash, as that's quite a complicated thing to do, but in any case, I'll assume good faith and restore it as a draft for submission to WP:AFC. Cordless Larry (talk) 13:12, 29 June 2021 (UTC)
- Hi I just click on the moved button and moved the page, that's what I did yesterday accidentally, anyways thank you so much. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Static Hash (talk • contribs) 13:18, 29 June 2021 (UTC)
Pretty Loud
Thanks for the reinforcement on Pretty Loud, and the link. I've incorporated it (perhaps not very smoothly...) - in fact, I had just discovered it shortly after posting this page. Martha (talk) 21:50, 3 July 2021 (UTC)
- No problem, Martha Forsyth. I don't have time to work on the article now, but the key is to summarise what the sources tell us about the band, rather than writing about the sources (as you've done with "Pretty Loud has been getting attention, especially in the European press" and "Another interview appeared in the Albanian press"). Cordless Larry (talk) 21:57, 3 July 2021 (UTC)
- Thanks again - I got into a little mess within the past hour and I think I've been messing up things other people had fixed....as I said above on the Talk page, I'm going to try to get out of the way now and let things settle down. (It was reference #4 that I'd messed around with.) Martha (talk) 23:29, 3 July 2021 (UTC)
Tafari Benti
Tafari Benti is an ethnic Oromo, why change it? Amhara Man 06 (talk) 08:39, 4 July 2021 (UTC)
- Because you didn't cite a source and you used a misleading edit summary, Amhara Man 06; you weren't fixing a typo. Cordless Larry (talk) 08:42, 4 July 2021 (UTC)
Did you remove the sentence where I said Mengistu was Oromo under his biography? I Cited a source next to it Amhara Man 06 (talk) 08:53, 4 July 2021 (UTC)
- No, Amhara Man 06, that was someone else. Cordless Larry (talk) 08:55, 4 July 2021 (UTC)
Can I change it back? I cited the source Amhara Man 06 (talk) 08:57, 4 July 2021 (UTC)
- If you make an addition to an article and it's reverted, the best thing to do is start a discussion on the article's talk page, Amhara Man 06. See WP:BRD on this. Cordless Larry (talk) 15:45, 4 July 2021 (UTC)
The person who reverted it is on an anonymous account, and also I cited a source(Mengistu Haile Mariam) why remove it? Isn't that vandalism Amhara Man 06 (talk) 21:22, 4 July 2021 (UTC)
- They explained their revert using the edit summary; it wasn't vandalism. Cordless Larry (talk) 07:46, 5 July 2021 (UTC)
Reinstating an article (follow-up to your response)
Hi, and thanks for responding on my query: Better content would require sources, but the article was redirected because of a lack of them. Are you able to suggest any? Wikipedia's notability requirements dictate that we need substantial, independent coverage, which in your case could be profiles in newspapers or perhaps cricket magazines. Cordless Larry (talk) 20:09, 3 July 2021 (UTC)
I have a few links I could immediately find below, but can share more and obviously add textual content that would be of interest to read and share. Please let me know how this can be achieved in order for the article to be reinstated once approved:

- Please post this at Wikipedia:Teahouse#Reinstating an article, to keep the discussion in one place and so that others see it. Cordless Larry (talk) 20:40, 4 July 2021 (UTC)
My Draft on LaTonya Holmes
I tried to create a page about LaTonya Holmes because I thought since all these other voice actors and actresses have information about them on Wikipedia, I thought she would deserved one too. But unfortunately my information and sources were not approved. They show insignificant coverage and does not qualify as a Wikipedia article. And that IMDb is not an acceptable source. Do you think you or some other experts on Wikipedia can edit this article or make it even better? If you think this is not worth making or a complete waste of time then I understand. Thank you for your time.
Charle Barkerson — Preceding unsigned comment added by Charle Barkerson (talk • contribs) 15:13, 6 July 2021 (UTC)
- You'd be best asking at the Teahouse about this, Charle Barkerson, but the basic problem is that you haven't cited any soures in Draft:LaTonya Holmes. Everything in an article should be referenced to a reliable source, and those sources need to demonstrate that there is significant coverage of the individual concerned (so profiles in newspapers, magazines, etc.). Hi
I heard from HostBot that you're an experienced editor![1] أحمدمحمدرمضانسعيد (talk) 16:08, 7 July 2021 (UTC)
- Reasonably so, yes, أحمدمحمدرمضانسعيد. If you have questions about editing Wikipedia, please do ask them at Wikipedia:Teahouse. Cordless Larry (talk) 18:51, 7 July 2021 (UTC)
- Will do. أحمدمحمدرمضانسعيد (talk) 19:44, 7 July 2021 (UTC)

Related ethnic groups
Hi Larry, hopefully the discussion about the relationship between ethnic groups will now run its course at Talk:English people. During the process, I placed the warning tag on Alssa1's page as he appeared to be involved in a history of repeated edit reversion at English people without discussions being opened. If that's wrong I'm happy to remove it. However, the warning he placed on my talk page was no more than a tit-for-tat retaliation and I'd be grateful for your approval to removal it. I only made 2 edits of the article which AFAICS does not qualify as edit warring. In fact, if someone reverts my initial reversion, I usually do one more re-revert and encourage them to follow WP:BRD as I did in this case. Can I remove the tag or does that need a third party? Bermicourt (talk) 16:46, 9 July 2021 (UTC)
- The rules about deleting messages from your own talk page are at WP:UP#CMT, Bermicourt; it looks like you're fine to remove it in this instance. Cordless Larry (talk) 17:23, 9 July 2021 (UTC)
- Great, thanks. Bermicourt (talk) 21:53, 9 July 2021 (UTC)
IP 198.166.98.77
Hi there, can you do something about this IP? His/her talk page is full of warnings piling up since early May, and s/he doesn't seem to take the hint with anything s/he is told, such as not changing population numbers or other figures without sources. S/he has long crossed the line into disruptive editing. Thanks! LandLing 22:18, 9 July 2021 (UTC)
- Thanks for highlighting, Landroving Linguist. I've applied a short block in the hope that changes their behaviour. Cordless Larry (talk) 07:00, 10 July 2021 (UTC)

Hi Cordless Larry, Dawit S Gondaria remove existing source without adequate reasoning here [1] and falsifying existing content here [2] to mislead other editors MfactDr (talk) 02:49, 14 July 2021 (UTC)
- I suggest discussing this on the article's talk page, MfactDr, or if you think that the editor has broken Wikipedia policies, then you could raise the issue at WP:AN/I (though if it's a content dispute, you're expected to attempt to resolve it through discussion first). Hi Cordless Larry, removing unnecessary pictures of Priti Patel's face is an entirely constructive public service. Please find a different example of a British person of Indian descent to use.
