The handwriting movements performed before or after the current movement.

  • Macro context: a substantial time gap between
 movement patterns so that virtually no context effects need to be
 expected (See: coarticulation).
  • Meso context: Strokes performed fluently and in sequence.
  • Micro context: Infinitesimally small pen-tip movements produced within a
 stroke.
