Disney Sing Along Song edits

You should stop making statements which are wholly unsubstantiated. Did you work for Disney in 1991 and personally witness a new tape master? Isn't it possible the old tape master was used and cut to allow for the new edition? Also, your statements about the Fun With Music and 101 Notes of Fun are redundant and unnecessary. Then again you include "Just like the American copies, when it was called "Fun With Music" -- there is no point to this repetitive statement. It is ridiculous to state "which also occurs on the UK/PAL 1994 re-issue titled "101 Notes of Fun"." when that volume has its own statement to that effect. Also the issue between "Old MacDonald Had A Band" and "Jack And Old Mac" is formatted to include where it originally appeared, and that it also appeare in the other, and is credited to the second source. Stop changing it. Your grammar sucks.

Editions You Plan on getting

I plan on getting my hands on several tapes, I have almost every black diamond edition, I just need the 1991 tape masters of The Sword in the Stone and Alice in Wonderland (these don't have labels, and have a diamond that says "Disney's CLASSICS" on them), and The Sword in the Stone 1989 case. I am trying hard to get my hands on the May 1986 edition of Alice in Wonderland and the March 1986 tape of The Sword in the Stone as well. I have some catching up to do, while I have the original black cases of Robin Hood, Pinocchio, and Dumbo.

I also have to get all the 1980 titles, I only have Pete's Dragon. Also, I need some more 1981 titles, and 1982 titles, but to put it short, I want every single Disney video from 1980 to 1987. But I'll probably have every one by, around 2009/2010. --Imax80 23:50, 1 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm trying to get the 1981 VHS of The Apple Dumpling Gang Rides Again so I can find out if it has a trailer for The Fox & the Hound, I'm also trying to get the 1985 VHS of Gus so I can find out if The Black Cauldron trailer from Pinocchio's on there & I'm trying to get the May 1986 edition of Alice in Wonderland so I can see if there's a trailer for The Great Mouse Detective.

I also plan on getting Ducktales: Daredevil Ducks 'cause I'm trying to find out if the Oliver & Company trailer from Cinderella's on there, I'm trying to get Walt Disney Mini Classics: Winnie the Pooh & the Blustery Day from 1989 'cause I'm trying to find out if The Little Mermaid trailer from Bambi's on there, also the 1990 re-print of Disney Sing Along Songs: vol.4: The Bare Necessities to find out what will be on there, I'm trying to get that vertical white label edition of Disney Sing Along Songs: vol.9: I Love to Laugh! so I can see the Ducktales: The Movie: Treasure of the Lost Lamp trailer, I'm also trying to get Darkwing Duck: Darkly Dawns the Duck to see that Brave Little Toaster trailer & finally I tend on getting the 1991 re-print of Disney Sing Along Songs: vol.3: You Can Fly! to find out if a trailer for Beauty & the Beast's on there. I have the 1985 VHS release of Gus and it doesn't have one, and it's a first edition because it was printed in May 1985, whereas it came out July 1985 (because there is a V at the end of the stock number, no VS). The Apple Dumpling Gang Rides Again came out in June 1981, so it's possible there is a trailer for The Fox and the Hound on it. --Imax80 19:35, 2 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Not that I know of. Gus was issued back in 1981, so maybe they used the prints with the 1978 logo to spare time on the 1985 release. Well I finally got Pinocchio with the "Black Cauldron" trailer. You probably already read the rest on Youtube. --Imax80 22:22, 2 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

But every time I do, it dosen't say "Message Sent" probally 'cause my sent box's full. Oh, well! Yep! As you can see there, that explains that 1st 4 titles, "Undercover Critters", "Crime Busters", "Double Trouble" & "Danger Rangers" all have horizontal white labels & were released back in 1989 'cause they were still using horizontal labels then. With that so, that prooves that Super Sleuths was released in 1990 'cause that was the 1st time they ever had vertical labels. I've seen Undercover Critters & Crime Busters & those 2 don't have previews. I never saw Double Trouble & Danger Rangers, but I think that Little Mermaid trailer from Bambi's on those titles. I also believe that Super Sleuths has a trailer of The Rescuers Down Under/The Prince & the Pauper. P.S. I've never seen Peter Pan with a vertical white label. I check ebay & they don't have it. What do you mean there's no Disney label? I just showed you it had a Disney label! I'm trying to show you since that tape has a vertical white label, it had to be released in 1990 'cause the show premiered in 1989 & 4 of their VHS has the 80's tape master, which prooves those titles were released in the same year the show premiered (probally when Bambi came out) & that Super Sleuths was 1990 'cause that's when they were starting vertical white labels & its the year after 1989.   • Skymac207 is a name that my mom uses a lot & lots of times. I use rarely use that & when I 1st registered at Wikipedia, that was the 1st name I could think of. I got the Mr.Wheeler & Mr.Walker accounts from the 1950 Goofy cartoon, "Motor Mania", 'cause I just saw that cartoon on Youtube & I was in that kind of mode when was registering those accounts & that's why I have those 3 names. Dumbo cover art

What makes you think that the Dumbo VHS cover art is from 1991 and not 1989? I know it premiered in 1989, because Canadiana posted a link to his blog where it says that the new cover for Dumbo premiered in 1989, along with The Sword in the Stone. That 1 has a new font for "Walt Disney's" & "Dumbo" written in purple text & this 1 has a heading of "Walt Disney's Classic" & "Dumbo" written in orange text. That prooves that the 1 with orange text wasn't 'til 1991! Skymac207 22:58, 5 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Listen carefully... when the new cover art for Dumbo was released in 1989, the tape still used the mid-80s tape master, along with the Beta-style white label on the cassette. Later in 1989 (or 1990), the label had a different font for "Walt Disney's" and a new font for "DUMBO"; before that, the fonts for "WALT DISNEY'S" and "DUMBO" were the same as on the 1987 label. Also, the Classics diamond and FBI legal notice were still the same, and the tape still used the 1984 Classics logo. In 1991, however, a newer tape master was released, and the cassette had white ink on the tape label space and used the 1987/1988 Classics logo. Gabrielkat 21:48, 6 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • Wait a minute, Gabrielkat has a good point. That advertisement has the prototype covers of them, but those were changed to a new font and heading because by that time, they realized the old cover font/heading was a little too retro for the newer cover art. List of Ducktales Titles

I'm just making a list of Ducktales VHS titles that came out each of the following years. There are 10 total. Take a look! If you have any question, ask above the titles.

  • If the titles were TRULY released on August 14, 1990, they'd have a Disneyland: 35 Years of Magic banner (my copy of DSAS: Under the Sea uses that banner) before the 1986 WDHV logo. Ryanasaurus0077, 16 January 2007 (UTC)
Well, ebay says Raiders of the Lost Lamp was on Aug. 14, 1990, but I just saw that 1 in the summer & it didn't have that baner, so since the nearest date is a VHS called Cheetah on July 25, 1990, I contributed Raiders of the Lost Lamp as that date since it dosen't have that banner. However, they did say Space Invaders was Aug. 14, 1990 & I never saw that 1 before, so I think Space Invaders was released on that date with that banner. Skymac207 21:43, 16 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, thanks. I've changed the date of that title to Sep. 21, 1990 when Peter Pan came out.
