Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris
Jonathan Dayton (born 7 July 1957 in Alameda County, California) and Valerie Faris (born 20 October 1958 in Los Angeles County, California) are an award-winning team of music video directors who have also moved into directing theatrical films.
Their most recent work, "Little Miss Sunshine", won the Best feature — international cinema Audience Award at the 2006 Sydney Film festival and an ovation at the 2006 Sundance Film Festival. Jonathan, after graduating from high school, attended UCLA where studied film and television in the late-1970s; While in college he met Valerie Faris, a dance student, who became his wife and his counterpart. Together they have made an impressive body of work directing and producing music videos, documentaries, commercials and films. Some of their work have come from their own production company, established in 1998, "Bob Industries". They have been known internationally for their superb work in producing music videos. Bands such as Oasis, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Beastie Boys, R.E.M., Smashing Pumpkins, which gave them 6 MTV Video Music Awards for the video Tonight Tonight, are among the long list of bands that they worked with. Under "Bob Industries" production, Jonathan and Valerie, directed commercials for companies such as VW, Sony PlayStation 2, GAP, Target, Ikea, Apple Computer, and ESPN. Even with their extensive work in music video's and film, they even have dabbled in television with the HBO show "Mr. Show with Bob & David".

- In the movie Little Miss Sunshine inside the convenience store, the price of Frank's slurpee and the porno magazines came to a total of $19.79. Directors Jonathon Dayton and Valerie Faris had previously directed the "1979" music video by The Smashing Pumpkins.
