2021 Seattle mayoral election

The 2021 Seattle mayoral election is set to take place on November 2, 2021. Incumbent mayor Jenny Durkan initially sought reelection to a second term in office, but later changed her mind and announced she would retire at the end of her current term.
The general election was preceded by a nonpartisan primary election on August 3, 2021, in which former Seattle City Council President Bruce Harrell and current Seattle City Council President M. Lorena González advanced to the November election.
