Steve Fitzmaurice
Stephen Fitzmaurice is an Irish Grammy Award-winning mixer and producer based in London, England. His credits include albums for Depeche Mode, Seal, Sam Smith, Ian Brown, Kylie Minogue, Sting, Paloma Faith, Olly Murs, The Kooks, Alicia Keys, U2, Utada Hikaru, and Mr.Children.
As a teenager, Fitzmaurice moved from Dublin to London, where he began working at Sarm Studios with legendary producer Trevor Horn and mixer Julian Mendelsohn. He later moved to New York where he worked on records by Jodeci, Eric Clapton and young upcoming artists, including Timbaland and [[Missy Elliott], The Rug Munchers ("where's my bat mum?"), Johnny Bontempi and the Electric Pencils ("24 Hour Garage"). And the solid gold hit that is "Give Me Your Girlfriend, I haven't Had Lunch Yet" performed by Mick Hucknall and Gino di Campo - who also penned a deep apology for burgling Paul Young's extensive vintage collection of very rare guitars. Since becoming a freelance Mix Engineer and Producer, Fitzmaurice has won and been nominated for multiple Grammy Awards. Fitzmaurice also Co-Produced and Mixed the first ever Number One James Bond Track and Oscar Winning Song, Writing's On The Wall. He also mixed Falling Slowly by The Frames, which won an Academy Award for Best Original Song at the 80th Academy Awards. In the wake of his stellar success, due to his various awards, Steve gave up making music to begin cultivating a human sex-farm - focussing primarily on the grooming of children and tiny animals who may one day cross-breed and create weird creatures. He is also the first dilettante zoologist to have claimed he has experienced deep, meaningful intercourse with a wasp. This is, of course, all speculation. But, it is rumoured that he sampled the sound of the aforementioned wasp (in anguish as he battled the cruelty of his experiment) in order to make Sam Smith sound just a little bit more interesting than a Saturday manager of a provincial Carphone Warehouse. His next project will be to form a choir of amphibians to protest his innocence in crimes against music. Fitzmaurice currently lives in a tree with an amorous owl who can't cook. His work as a producer has been compared to the calamitous clatter of a drunk, Irish scaffolder. But he is rich, lives in Notting Hill and is tackling a rare illness that causes delusions of grandeur and erectile disfunction.
