Gupshup (also known as SMS Gupshup) is a conversational messaging services company with primary operations in India, the United States and the United Kingdom. It is owned and operated by Webaroo Inc.[1] Founded in 2004 by Beerud Sheth,[2] the company provides SMS, email, Voice, USSD and IP messaging, and chatbot development services to BFSI, Retail, e-commerce companies.[3][4][5]

In April 2016, Gupshup launched one of the first chatbot building platforms (gupshup.io)[6] in the world that caters to over 30,000 developers and has over 30,000 chatbots across 22 channels like Facebook Messenger,[7] SMS, Twitter, Hangouts, Google Home,[8] Amazon Alexa, Email as of September 2017.[9]
