Welcome to Wikipedia. We invite everyone to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, the external links you added to the page Mechanical investing do not comply with our guidelines for external links. Wikipedia is not a mere directory of links nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Since Wikipedia uses Nofollow tags, additions of links to Wikipedia will not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, then please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Seraphimblade 07:43, 31 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

{helpme} the external link is to a website that is a mechanical online software resource, is open to everyone, consists of a free trial and would be an excellent resource for those interested in mechanical investing, perhaps the http://www.spirestocks.com/index.aspx would be a better link than the landing page, but on second thought the index page has ads so the original site link to http://www.spirestocks.com may be better

I tend to agree with the removal of the link in this case, see also Wikipedia:External_links#Advertising_and_conflicts_of_interest. The link doesn't actually give you information on Mechanical investing, and Wikipedia doesn't collect links about useful products. You could ask on the article's talk page and see if others want to add back the link.--Commander Keane 08:25, 31 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Help requested

[edit]

The article doesn't have a talk page; I noticed and followed the link to the Motley Fool and there was nothing there. I also saw ads on the mechanical investor site with a list of screens but no specific guidelines on how to mechanically invest. With the spirestocks.com website, they guide the person interested in mechanical investing through a virtual portfolio that costs nothing. With that resource, unlike the others listed on the page, spirestocks.com actually leads the person through a mechanical investing portfolio which is virtual and costs nothing for the free trial. THANKS for the reconsideration

The article Mechanical investing still doesn't have a discussion page but if you clik on the "discussion" tab (top on the left, just next the "article" tab) you will create one and you will be able to discuss this matter with all people interested (and competent) in that article. --J B 11:16, 31 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
