I don't. Wikipedia is supposed to represent encyclopaedic standards of information, and I'd say this sort of contribution, as well as a lot of the rubbish posted here is counter-productive. Phanatical 07:39, 3 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

.

girraween high does not have the esteem its attendees hold of it. the students are often referred to as girraweeners in the general school community. my brother is a girraweener. the school has a repressive environment and estranged teachers like bald guys that yell and talk about hair or yell about hair. not that its their problem because the teachers are assigned by the NSW board of studies. but the partial fault lies in that the school accepted such teachers. girraween high is in an area with trees and cars and little ducks in dried up creeks. the local train station is 5km from the school and ethnic minorities are in the majority, which is super because it reflects the multicultural nature of the school.

Dude. What a load. Seriously. The school blows, no exceptions.

WTF?

Who has been changing this article to portray the school positively? It's sickening. And whats with some weirdo grammar war in the previous few revisions? Really, be sensible, accept the truth. Don't try to con more suckers into ruining their life at the school. And, whats with this?

  • Girraween has performed well academically over the years, and it looks forward to developing more kids academically in the years to come, despite the fact that their selectiveness has not prevented students apparently thicker than two planks who could not find the hole in a donut with a labelled diagram from entering.

Not only have the people who edited this (and i think there are multiple people) said 'the school is good', the same article contradicts itself with the above statement about donuts. Are you referring to the previous edits including information about the Hole, etc.? Or the guy with the supposed crap grammar? I mean, some students are a bit dubious, intellectually, but none of them to that degree.
And some people are considering attempting to revert to one of the previous revisions of the article. It would be appreciated if comments on this are made before some people do revert...basically depends on the amount of people that consider the article as of 10 April 2006 to be accurate. (meaning the article about Alvin somebody and detailed Music information, being more accurate than the previous version about the Hole.)

who has been changing it? its fucken Phanatical, some fucken chinese loser with no life. the fat bastard stuffs his face and spends all day makin bonsai and posting fuckin LIES about GIrraween. that bastard

Hi!

Nah, a lot of the edits about grammar etc. and the intellectual capacity of the students have actually been a bit of a prank by alumni of said school. (I think the hole thing was put in by current students or later alumni, however. I certainly didn't hear anything being called "the hole" during my stay there.) Most entries about The Hole, the ruder accusations about the students and the general lack of quality in the teaching staff are from current students.

The information about Alvin Mak I can verify - I am an alumni of the school and personal friend of the guy. That stuff's all true.

So is the stuff about The Hole (I know the room, anyway) and, well, pretty much everything else really, but if people want to put the school's bad points up they should avoid trivial matters and vandalism and stick to the important facts. (also, this "Ms Rhodes" person I cannot attest to the existence of, as if there is a teacher by that name she joined the school staff after I left the school.)

Alumni

People have been adding names to this list. It should be limited to Girra alumni who are prominent.

To justify the current names: Jana Pittman Rawlinson is a notable Olympic Hurdler. Magda Rybicki is a notable Volleyball player who has defeated the likes of gold medalist Kerri Potthurst. Nicholas Ng is a published Composer who has written for film and radio. Antoinette Chiha is a Journalist for the "Insight" program on SBS, and director of Token Media. Melissa Curran is a published Poet. Phanatical 11:40, 22 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sporting legacy a lie

Girraween High School sucks at sports. Take down this info or I will. Thank you.

Please see WP:NPOV and WP:V -- can you cite reliable sources so that Wikipedia, as an encyclopedia, can avoid original research? Thanks in advance. Luna Santin 19:30, 6 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Teacher Student Relationships and Caramel the Cow

They forgot to mention the school is renound for teachers being 'romantically' involved with students, and that stuff about them building specialist music studios...what a crock, all they did was buy a few keyboards and a few nylon string guitars...oh and one electric guitar which was purchased several years later. The most memorable thing that occured during my time there was when 'Reg will fix it' from Triple M came to the school to help artificially inseminate the cow...and stuck his arm up the cows rear end. A perfect example of the education i recieved there...

I find it unfathomable that this link should be classed as unacceptable. It is far more informative than the link to the "Homepage for Girraween High Alumni" and includes a Wiki that is full of unbiased information regarding the school. I fail to see how this violates Wikipedia's policy in any given way, especially seeing as I am not associated with the website. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 124.189.43.242 (talkcontribs)

It's (or was) a Mediawiki installation where students contributed schoolyard gossip and defamatory rumour about school teachers. Review WP:EL for my reasoning for keeping this link out of the article. The other link probably fails the guideline as well, but I've not looked into it as yet. -- Longhair\talk 11:20, 9 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I've removed the other link as well. The site it redirects to has no content whatsoever (ie, the homepage is blank). -- Longhair\talk 11:24, 9 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
