Magdalena Bay is an American synth-pop duo based in Miami, consisting of members Mica Tenenbaum and Matthew Lewin. The duo debuted in 2016 with the release of their debut song, "Voc Pop", in 2016. Magdalena Bay cites dance-pop music from 1980s to 2000s as inspiration for their music.

History

Mica Tenenbaum and Matthew Lewin met at Live! Modern School of Music in Miami, where they were placed in a classic rock cover band.[1][2] After the band broke up, Tenenbaum and Lewin formed Magdalena Bay in 2016.[1] The band's name was inspired by a colleague of Lewin's.[1] The duo released their debut song, "Voc Pop", on SoundCloud in 2016, and signed with indie record label Luminelle Recordings in 2019.[3] The duo released their debut studio album, Mercurial World, on October 8, 2021.[4][5][6]
