WWE Rebellion was an annual WWE Pay-Per-View event held by World Wrestling Entertainment that was exclusively for the United Kingdom on Sky Box Office. In 2002, the pay-per-view was a SmackDown! exclusive show. This pay-per-view was stopped after all UK exclusive pay-per-views were stopped in 2003.

Trivia

  • Rebellion 2002 was the first ever pay-per-view exclusive to the SmackDown! brand. Although, there was one exception in that Booker T, a RAW superstar at the time was allowed to fight Matt Hardy. The RAW brand had their part of the deal done previously by having Triple H fight on their pay-per-view WWE Insurrextion earlier that year.
  • Every Rebellion from 1999-2001 has had a Triangle Tag Team Match, except that in 2000 it was a Triangle Tables Tag Team Match.
  • The WWE European Championship is the only title to ever change hands at Rebellion (in 2000).
  • The European Title is also the only WWE title (excluding the Hardcore Title, which was contested with the 24/7 rule) to ever change hands at UK pay-per-views (once at One Night Only in 1997 and once at Rebellion 2000).
  • At Insurrextion 2003, it was announced that Rebellion 2003 would take place on October 11 at Earls Court in London. However, in August 2003 WWE quietly dropped the London event from its schedule. A non-televised WWE SmackDown! live event took place on October 11 in Manchester.
