Plot

A young Jyothi (Veronika Arora) is haunted by a spirit in her home, and is placed in boarding school by her furious father, Rajasekhar (Sampath Raj), who believes that she is lying. Many years later, a court ruling forces a reluctant Rajasekhar to allow a secret room at the village temple to be opened, though, everyone, including Rajasekhar is shocked when nothing is found inside. Soon after, Rajasekhar sees his manservant and driver, Durai (Vincent Asokan), commit suicide. Jyothi (Raashi Khanna), now an adult, returns for Durai's funeral and realises that the spirit that haunted her is now haunting her young relative Shalu (Ovi Bhandarkar). Jyothi is later lured to her late mother's room and nearly killed when a chandelier falls on her. She is saved by a portrait of her late mother, Eeshwari (Andrea Jeremiah). She later encounters Eeshwari's spirit telling her to run when the spirit haunting Shalu appears.

One night, Shalu argues with the spirit and is doused in kerosene. She is chased by flames and rescued by her father, Ravi (Sundar C.). Ravi is planning to move overseas after custody of Shalu was granted to her mother Hema (Sakshi Agarwal), following his divorce, but is convinced by Jyothi to stay and investigate the mysterious occurrences. Meanwhile, Jyothi falls in love with, and is in turn pursued by, local handyman and electrician, Saravanan (Arya). Ravi investigates Eeshwari's room and discovers a photo of Jyothi's parents with three servants, including Durai, two of whose faces are scratched out. He encounters Eeshwari's spirit and attempts to warn the third servant, Kaali (Vichu Vishwanath) but the servant is killed before the warning can be delivered.

Ravi and Jyothi bring priests to exorcise the palace. The priests trap one of the two ghosts, but the other appears and destroys the trap, revealing that it has possessed Saravanan. Ravi tells Jyothi that this spirit is Eeshwari, who was responsible for the murders and the attack on Jyothi herself. The warning Jyothi later heard was directed at the spirit haunting Shalu, who has the same name as her.

Rajasekhar is spooked by the mysterious occurrences and visits a hermit priest in the forest. Saravanan, who had driven Rajasekhar there, attacks the pair. Ravi manages to rescue Rajasekhar, but the priest is left behind and is confronted by Eeshwari. Rajasekhar reveals the truth to Ravi. He had forcibly married Eeshwari after falling for her at her wedding to another man. When their child is born, the child resembles Eeshwari's groom, and Rajasekhar realises that she had already been pregnant at the wedding. A furious Rajasekhar has the child killed and buried in the palace, to avoid the shame of gossip, and kills Eeshwari. He replaces the dead child with Durai's newborn daughter and claims her as his own.

Eeshwari's lover, a descendant of a long line of priests, steals her body and attempts to use black magic to revive her, but is horrified when she returns as a ghoul and abandons her in the forest. Eeshwari later kills the midwife who poisoned her child and threatens Rajasekhar. Rajasekhar convinces the father of Eeshwari's lover - the hermit priest - to help destroy the spirit his son revived. The priest tricks his son into luring out Eeshwari's spirit and traps her in the hidden room in the temple.

In the present, Eeshwari convinces the priest to raise the spirit of his son in order to allow her child's spirit, the other Jyothi, to possess the body of the child who had replaced her, the living Jyothi. Ravi and Jyothi trap and take the spirit of Eeshwari's child to the priests who had helped them. The priests attempt to banish both spirits when Eeshwari arrives and attempts to rescue her, but they are blindsided by the arrival of Eeshwari's lover. Rajasekhar is killed, but together, Jyothi, Ravi and the priests manage to banish the three spirits during a holy festival, freeing Saravanan.

Saravanan and Jyothi marry. Ravi and his wife reunite.
