Aphanius sophiae, the Soffia toothcarp, is a species of freshwater pupfish belonging to the family Cyprinodontidae. It is endemic to the Kor River basin of the Fars Province in Iran. They are harmless to humans. They are one of the subclades of the IIRAS and they are the richest of the 3 subclades.[1] They can be found in freshwater but also saline water.[2] This species is also influenced by its environment due to its fluctuating stressors of temperature, salinity, and flooding that have an affect on the species age, growth, and reproductive characteristics.[3][4][5]
