OmniTech (Cholera tests)
OmniTech rapid Cholera detection device can identify the presence of Vibrio cholerae in water in approximately 30 minutes, significantly faster than alternatives which can take 3 to 5 days[1][3][4] or over a week.[5] OmniTech uses a process of DNA amplification and viscosity measurement[6], it costs approximately US$10 per test.[6] The processing is done on an Android smartphone[6] that analysis water samples that are put into a single use test kit element.[1]
The current design is not well suited for large scale testing due to the small volume that can be tested.[1]
COVID-19 rapid tests
In May 2020 OmniVis was working on the early stages of a rapid test for COVID-19[7] that would detect the disease in human saliva[2]. Like their Cholera tests, the rapid tests uses a smartphone for processing.[7]
OmniMask (face mask)
OmniMask is an open-source, 3D-printed face mask[5], unique insofar as it can be adapted to fit the contours of the wearer's face.[2][5]
