OmniTech (Cholera test)
OmniTech rapid Cholera detection device can identify the presence of Vibrio cholerae in water in approximately 30 minutes.[1] OmniTech uses a process of DNA amplification and viscosity measurement[2], it costs approximately US$10 per test.[2] The processing is done on an Android smartphone[2] that analyses water samples that are put into a single use test kit element.[1]
The current design is not well suited for large scale testing due to the small volume that can be tested.[1]
COVID-19 rapid diagnostic test
In May 2020 OmniVis was working on the early stages of a rapid test for COVID-19[3] that detects the disease in human saliva[4]. The rapid tests uses a smartphone for processing.[3]
