Tulagino (Yakut. Тулагы, Rus. Тулагино) is a rural locality located in the Yakutsk Urban Okrug in the Sakha Republic of the Russian Federation. Tulagino is the Administrative centre of the Tulagino-Kildamskiy Nasleg. As of 2015, it was composed of 1660 permanent residents.

Geography

Tulagino is located in Central Yakutia, in the valley of Tuymaada (Yakut. Туймаада, Rus. Туймаада), 26 kilometers north of the City of Yakutsk, and on the west bank of the Lena River.

Climate

Tulagino has an extreme Continental Subarctic climate with long and harsh winters. (mean january temperature is around -40°C) as well as short, yet hot summers (mean july temperature is around 18°C). Humidity can be characterized as low, with low quantities of precipitation year-round, and dry air, especially during the fall.

History

In 1977, by order of the Supreme Soviet of the Russian SFSR, the locality of "Lygiy" (Rus. Лыгый) was renamed to Tulagino

Infrastructure

Economy

Almost all economic infrastructure in the Tulagino Locality is dedicated to agriculture, in order to supply food for the neighboring city of Yakutsk.

Culture, healthcare, and Education

Tulagino features a "house of culture", secondary public school, and essential healthcare facilities. Most other services are provided by businesses operating in the city of Yakutsk.

Transportation

Tulagino is connected to the road network of far-east russia by the regional highway of 98К-005, that also connects it to the city of Yakutsk.
