Moonshell is a homebrew media player for the Nintendo DS. It is one of the most well known DS homebrew software, and as of December 2006, one of the few ways to play video on the DS. The official video encoder is rather poor, so other programs such as BatchDPG have been created to produce videos of higher quality. Moonshell is capable of playing fullscreen videos at 20fps and widescreen videos at 24fps, with joint stereo sound at a samplerate of 32768Hz. Moonshell can also play a variety of formats like Ogg, MP3, low bit rate AAC, MOD and many more. Moonshell is coded by Infantile Paralysiser.
