Alice Sebold date of birth
First sentence of article gives year of birth as 1962. Caption of photo gives 1963. Don't know which is correct but the two dates should be deconflicted. Willmoon (talk) 01:47, 13 January 2008 (UTC)
- I'm going to change the 1962 date to 1963 as both biographies at IMDb and Goodreads say 1963 Optimale Gu 18:25, 13 January 2008 (UTC)

I object to the characterization of Sebold's sodomy as "brutal". It violates NPOV by introducing the subjective idea that her assault was worst than another. This is not NPOV and should be removed at once. 74.69.9.224 (talk) 13:46, 16 July 2014 (UTC)

Conviction Overturn
The overturn of Anthony Broadwater‘s conviction should be added. 2601:448:8400:31A2:C503:2BF1:7CD0:7FF9 (talk) 21:11, 23 November 2021 (UTC)
The wording needs to change because as it is now, it is Broadwater's life story, not Sebold's. "Even after his release, Broadwater fought to get his conviction overturned" - this is not part of Sebold's life story. 124.37.83.250 (talk) 10:39, 25 November 2021 (UTC)
- Already done. GorillaWarfare (she/her • talk) 20:59, 29 November 2021 (UTC)
Early life and eduction -- footnote irrelevant
In 2021, the man’s conviction was overturned due to “serious flaws” with the prosecution and concerns the wrong man had been sent to jail.[1]
This bookmark points to something which has nothing to do with the false testimony, wrongful conviction, and overturning of the case. The cited article is thirteen years old and the conviction was only overturned today. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Shmooth (talk • contribs) 05:02, 25 November 2021 (UTC)

Edit
At the age of 18 in her first year at Syracuse University, she was brutally raped. Lucky is a memoir about the rape. She said that from then on "my life was over" and some critics believe all her subsequent writing was impacted by this incident.
This is false, given the new information. JohnDVandevert (talk) 12:57, 28 November 2021 (UTC)
- From the sources I've read, there doesn't seem to be doubt that she was brutally raped, only about who was responsible. GorillaWarfare (she/her • talk) 20:59, 29 November 2021 (UTC)
Post and Tribune links
In the Washington Post "Special Effects" article, the author's name actually appears at the bottom; Roxana Hadadi can thus be credited in the citation. Here is the correct link for the 2002 Chicago Tribune "Heartland Prizes". LaLeLiLou (talk) 09:33, 30 November 2021 (UTC)
