2022 Somerset Council election
The 2022 Somerset County Council election will take place in May 2022, alongside the other local elections. All seats to Somerset County Council or its successor(s) will be elected.[1]
The election was due to be held on 6 May 2021, but Robert Jenrick decided in February 2021 to extend the term of office of sitting councillors for one year, as a decision was imminent on whether to convert the county council into one or two new unitary authorities.[2]
Before the election, the Somerset County Council was led by an Conservative Party majority.
