Mathematics CotW

Hey DK, I am writing you to let you know that the Mathematics Collaboration of the week(soon to "of the month") is getting an overhaul of sorts and I would encourage you to participate in whatever way you can, i.e. nominate an article, contribute to an article, or sign up to be part of the project. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks

P.S. The original was the best... SNES forever!--Cronholm144 21:17, 13 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Cool, Thanks for the tip. I don't get around to getting online much at the moment, let alone contributing on wiki, but I'm interested in the project... we'll see. Feel free to leave me more messages about what's going on (expecially if you're working on any articles on, say, graph theory).
P.S. Yeah, I'd have to agree with you about the Donkey Kong games on SNES. Actually the reason why I chose "DonkeyKong64" was that DonkeyKong was unavailable. The origin of my nickname "DK" is a slightly longer story. DonkeyKong64 14:52, 16 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hey!

Hi DK,

Thank you so much for welcoming me :) Sorry I couldn't respond earlier, I was busy adding so many insane userboxes to my user-page :-P

It's great to have someone with similar interests to talk to. I was also an atheist once, for about 2 years ... but I was a little kid then :-D I walked up to my parents one day and said, "Mum, Dad, I've decided I'm going to be an atheist." They said "OK". Then one day I said "I've decided to believe in God again". They said "OK". I guess that's where I mostly draw my religous philosophy from -- I believe it to be purely a matter of personal choice. Sorry for rambling like that, I'll stop myself mow.

I saw ur blog too, it's nice.

I'll be glad to talk to you about Hinduism and other stuff, whenever u feel like. Thanks again, take care. Chow. -- Amit 12:01, 5 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Uh, but you haven't replied yet, right? ["I am now going to my talk page to reply to your post.DonkeyKong64 (Mathematician in training) 23:03, 7 July 2007 (UTC)"] --Amit 14:35, 9 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Copy of post on Amit's talk page: Sorry I didn't end up replying like I said I would. I've been busy recently... I intend to reply at some point when I get around to it. :P - DonkeyKong64 (Mathematician in training) 17:14, 24 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You've been loved by ReluctantPhilosopher

Hey there! ReluctantPhilospher has loved you by placing a heart icon in the top-right corner of your userpage. Don't worry, it's not vandalism, but simply a small way to spread the WikiLove. Remember to pass it on to all your friends by adding {{User:Arknascar44/Love Cabal}} to the top of their pages. Don't forget to add your name here! Love and best wishes, Amit@Talk 04:10, 17 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Better layout - Formatting lists in columns

I noticed a good improvement to the See Also section of the Logarithm page. User:Giftlite made the change so that the See Also list is displayed in 4 columns. I think columns like this should be used more widely for lists in Wikipedia - it's much more compact than a single-column list, meaning less scrolling and more text on-screen at one time. Good stuff. :)

The code I'm talking about is:

<div style="-moz-column-count:4; column-count:4;"> ... </div>

Which produces something like this:

  • link1
  • link2
  • link3
  • link4
  • link5
  • link6
  • link7
  • link8
  • link9
  • link10

Philosophical zombie

Hi DK, I noticed you added philosophical zombie to the list of articles that interest you. So I thought you might find this interesting. Cheers! :-) ReluctantPhilosopher (talk) 06:42, 10 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks man. Feel free to tell me of other sites you think I would be interested in. Not sure if this is the most appropriate place though. *shrug* Maybe send me an email via the "E-mail this user" link? DonkeyKong64 (Mathematician in training) (talk) 04:01, 16 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hey

Wanna help out [1]? It allows more stuff about DK than this place does... 98.237.178.131 (talk) 19:12, 20 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the invitation. My username is actually derived from a nickname (a reference to "DK Mode" in Goldeneye 007). I have no particular interest in Donkey Kong, although I did rather like the Donkey Kong games when I used to play video games regularly. Blocked

This account is possibly compromised, possibly LTA. Related accounts include, but are not limited to: Supergamer99 (talk · contribs · block log), GN10Gaming5 (talk · contribs · block log), GN10Gaming V2 (talk · contribs · block log) -- zzuuzz (talk) 20:28, 9 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Zzuuzz: Thanks, it does appear that my user account was compromised. I rarely log in here so an indefinite block was the right call. I didn't make any of the 4 edits from 18 March 2021 that are attributed to this account. I'm guessing that my account credentials were compromised and used to log in to my account on a remote machine. I had a very insecure password that I previously used across many different sites. Maybe my Wikipedia password was guessed based on a data breach on one of those sites. I've now updated my Wikipedia account to have a unique, secure (long and randomised) password, as I previously did on several other sites. Do you think there's anything else I should do to mitigate against unauthorised account access before I submit an unblock request, or would the password change be sufficient?
