Edit

I have edited the Feast and the Patron Saint issue lines of this article by getting rid of the red links(not existing pages or articles), thanks for not changing.Manager0916 (talk) 10:13, 16 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Copied material

We cannot host large amounts of text from copyrighted websites. Regrettably, I've deleted the section titled "The Santo Niño was once black", which was copied from http://cebuheritage.com/heritage-of-cebu/old-churches/basilica-minore-del-santo-nino/original-image-of-the-sto-nino-de-cebu/. If someone would like to write a summary of that webpage from scratch that'd be OK.   Will Beback  talk  08:14, 8 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Images

The main image now purports to be an actual photograph of the historic Santo Nino statue in the Basilica. Photos of other statues are also interesting, within limits, but they should not supplant the image of the original one. Unless there's a discussion, I'll keep reverting the deletion of that image.[1]   Will Beback  talk  08:11, 23 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion of sourced content, addition of unsourced content

@2605:e000:218a:2d00:8d78:db8a:58d2:9932: / @2605:e000:218a:2d00:*: Welcome to wikipedia. Your repeated deletion of sourced content, and changes to the content in a manner that misrepresents the cited sources in this article too, is puzzling. Please see wikipedia's content policies and guidelines, particularly WP:RS and WP:V. If you have concerns, please explain what and why. Your personal opinion / prejudice / wisdom is irrelevant, and any objections you raise must identify reliable sources. Please do not edit war. photo of the image of Sto. Niño is not the original image of Santo Niño de Cebú, please edit

Good day Editors,

Please edit the main photo of the image of Santo Niño, because it is not the photo of the original image of the Sto. Niño de Cebu. The current displayed photo here in Wikipedia is only a replica of the original. Since this is wikipedia and a lot of people doing research do check out frequently the wikipedia than any other encyclopedia websites for quick informations and this includes looking for the correct, accurate and true photographs, it is appropriate to publish only the photograph of the original image.

As a devotee of the Sto. Niño and a frequent churchgoer in Basílica Menor del Santo Niño de Cebú (Minor Basilica of the Holy Child of Cebú) commonly known as the Santo Niño Basilica, I know personally that the primary profile photo displayed here in Wiki is not the original image of the Sto. Niño de Cebu. In this regard, I humbly suggest and request the editors to replace it with only the correct and true photograph of the original image of the Sto. Niño de Cebu.

Please check a link I have here below from CEBU DAILY NEWS that features current photograph dated January 17, 2018 in the mentioned spreadsheet's facebook page of the original 496 years old image of the Sto. Niño as being displayed inside a bulletproof glass case located in the side chapel inside the basilica for public veneration. This may be used with the permission of the owner of the photograph.

Hoping for a consideration regarding this matter. Thank you.
