Winter Olympics appearances (overview)

The Virgin Islands is scheduled to compete at the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing, China, from 4 to 20 February 2022.[1] The country is scheduled to return to the Winter Olympics, after last competing in 2014.[2][3]

The Virgin Islands team consisted of female athlete in skeleton.[2] Due to Katie Tannenbaum testing positive for COVID-19, she was unable to carry her country's flag into the 2022 Winter Olympics opening ceremonyopening ceremony. Instead a volunteer carried the Virgin Islands flag during the parade of nations.[4][5]

Skeleton

The Virgin Islands qualified 1 sled in the women's event, after receiving a reallocated quota place.[6] This marked the country's debut in the sport at the Winter Olympics.
