Keep, notable person, already mentioned in a lot of books like: Secrets of the Lebanon War (Alain Ménargues, 2004) and Valley of Tears: The National Resistance and the Israeli Occupation in South Lebanon (Faisal Jalloul, 1986) also on reliable sources like this one. Sources linked him directly with Bachir Gemayel, Lebanese Civil War and Samir Geagea --Alaa :)..! 00:40, 5 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

"Didn't have an article until his involvement with a disaster today" is not a reason to assume someone doesn't meet notability criteria. Marwan Abboud didn't have an article until today either, and he's the governor, which definitely meets notability. DS (talk) 00:58, 5 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Keep seems to be notable, two of the three references come before the explosion today, therefore I don't think WP:ONEEVENT applies here. Keep. There are many living notable people about whom we don't yet have articles. Obituaries are common ways (a bit belated) of identifying such omissions. Keep per sources that predate his death noted above establishing WP:Notability beyond WP:ONEVENT and suggest WP:SNOW close per overwhelming WP:CONSENSUS to keep. The reason a Lebanese politician did not have an English-language Wikipedia article prior to his violent death is likely to be WP:Systemic bias, which we should not compound by deleting the article.
