Rev. Fr. Dr. Mathews Vazhakkunnam (born 12 February 1970) is a priest of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church.
Early life
Fr. Dr. Mathews was born on 12 February 1970 to Prof. V.C. Mathew and Rachel Mathew at Vazhakkunnam, Cherukole in Kozhencherry, Pathanamthitta District, Kerala. He had his early education at NSS High School, Kattoor. For higher education, he attended St. Thomas College, Kozhencherry, Kerala, at Sree Shankaracharya University of Sanskrit, Kalady, and obtained doctor of philosophy in Malayalam at MG University Kottayam.
He was very much active in the extracurricular activities during his school life, from 1983 he became a notable artist in his school as well as district level competitions. Especially in Kadhaprasangam, he himself wrote & performed the same on the stages of competitions. Story writing, poems, light music songs,
