(This is my first time reporting; my sincere apologies if I do it incorrectly.) I believe that current user AEMoch was previously blocked as user Aedwardmoch. The Aedwardmoch account had a fixation on Norman Cota and claimed to be his illegitimate biological grandchild; see Talk:Norman_Cota for some of that history. The AEMoch account is also fixated on Cota (more here), but is also claiming to be a member of the Belgian royal family and adding a lot of fantastical information, including here and here. Aside from the names, there's more evidence for them being the same person when you look at Aedwardmoch's claim of involvement with Project Stargate and AEMoch's claim of the same. The AEMoch account has been editing the Project Stargate page to say that an A. Moch was a participant, just as the Aedwardmoch account did. Again, if I'm doing this incorrectly or if you need more information, please let me know. Thank you. Beginning (talk) 02:01, 15 February 2022 (UTC)

- Maybe he'd fare better if he stopped seeking council and started seeking counsel. Sorry. Couldn't resist. -- Tamzin[cetacean needed] (she/they) 00:05, 16 February 2022 (UTC)

[edit]- The behavior described here raises a number of concerns regarding being here to build an encyclopedia and competence to do so, but as far as SPI is concerned, really only two things matter. @AEMoch:
- Do you deny having previously edited as User:Aedwardmoch?
- Assuming you acknoweldge being that user, will you retract the legal threat you made at User talk:Aedwardmoch § Stargate Project in 2009?
- -- Tamzin[cetacean needed] (she/they) 06:55, 15 February 2022 (UTC)
- So, this is pretty cut-and-dry. AEMoch acknowledges on their userpage that the are Alfred Edward Cota-Moch. Talk:Norman Cota § Gen. Cota's Old Family Roots and Origins and the subequent section and Aedwardmoch's talkpage show him claiming to either be that person or to represent him (it's a bit ambiguous), but the shared fixation on promoting dubious lineages and mentioning Moch at the Project Starship article (per filer) clinch it.While I would normally be inclined to show some leniency (at least as far as WP:SOCK is concerned) for such an old block, WP:NLT is clear that the block lasts as long as the threat is outstanding. Moch has now twice [1] [2] declined to retract the threat. On that basis, and on the basis that their behavior now significantly echoes the conduct they were already under scrutiny for at the time of their NLT indef in 2009, Awaiting administrative action for an indefinite block as a proven sockpuppet / NLT enforcement. - Welp, per Largoplazo's comment, looks like I could have saved myself the trouble of writing this out. So yes, block evasion, legal threats, COI, CIR, NOTHERE, all of the above, take your pick. -- Tamzin[cetacean needed] (she/they) 00:05, 16 February 2022 (UTC)
- Blocked by Cullen328 for legal threats. Tagged based on my findings above. Closing. Good job finding such an old case, by the way, Beginning. -- Tamzin[cetacean needed] (she/they) 00:16, 16 February 2022 (UTC)
