Dr. Samar Alsaggaf, the first female anatomist in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia,[1] was the director of the Department of Medical and Health Science Programs at the Saudi Arabian Cultural Mission(SACM) to the U.S. in Washington, D.C.[2] She is known as "The Mother of Saudi Students" by Saudi students in the United States.[1]

Before joining SACM, she served as academic lecturer and physician with a specialization in anatomy, embryology, histology, and the development of the nervous system.[3]

She has supervised degree programs and served as chair and president of numerous committees and advisory boards.[3]

Moreover, she is a recipient or nominee of many awards worldwide, including in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the United States, and the UAE.[3]

She supports women’s programs and curriculum development, and facilitating in bridging the gap between East and West through negotiation.[1]
