Kunwar or Kanwar or Kaur or Kuar (Template:Lang-ne) is a surname of Nepalese and Indian people belonging to Mian Rajput caste. The name Kunwar is coined to denote a young prince in South Asia region.[1] Kunwar family is a dynasty of Nepalese Khas-Chhetri[2] nobility of Gorkha Kingdom bearing the surname. Kanwar is also found as a Rajput or Kshatriya surname in certain areas of Nepal,Rajasthan,Himachal Pradesh, Haryana and Punjab respectively.
