Seth Nyquist (born 1991), better known as MorMor, is a Canadian indie pop musician.[1]

Biography

Seth Nyquist was born in Toronto, where he grew up with his mother Mary Nyquist and his sister Monika Nyquist.[2][3][4] His interest in music and the arts began very early in life. .[5] Nyquist sang in his school's choir and played trumpet in the band at Oakwood Collegiate. [3] After he finished school, Nyquist started to study sociology at Toronto's Ryerson University.[3] but dropped out after one semester at Ryerson in order to focus on his musical career instead. He took piano at the RCM and vocal training."Mormor" is a reference to his maternal grandmother, the word meaning "the mother's mother" in Swedish[3]

In 2015, he released his debut EP, Live for Nothing, under the moniker MorMor.[6] In 2018, MorMor released the EP Heaven's Only Wishful through his own label, Don't Guess.[3]

In 2019, he received a SOCAN Songwriting Prize nomination for the song "Whatever Comes to Mind".[7]
