Android 19
Template:DB Character Android #19 (Jinzō'ningen #19, Cyborg #19) is a fictional character from the manga Dragon Ball and from the anime TV Series based on the second half of Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z. He is an energy absorbing-Android, rotund in appearance with alabaster-colored skin. In the English dub, he has a scratchy broken doll-like voice, which is in contrast to his normal human voice in the original Japanese version of the show.
Dragon Ball Z
Android Saga
At the start of the Android assault, #19 appears in the city with his ally and creator, Android #20 (really a re-modeled Dr. Gero) and wreaks havoc along with #20. The Z Warriors are unable to sense their presence, as they are androids. Yamcha accidentally runs into them and ends up mortally wounded by #20, who impales his chest with his hand and absorbs his life force through Yamcha's mouth.
Goku, Piccolo, and the others show up and save Yamcha in time. While Kuririn gives Yamcha a Senzu Bean and takes him to safety, the Z Warriors and Androids fly away from the city and find a mountain range to use as a battlefield.
19 then fights against the Super Saiyan Goku, and the battle appears to be even, until Goku fights harder (this surprises 19 and 20, as Goku was supposed to be weaker according to 20's calculations). However, Goku is affected by a heart disease that Future Trunks warned him about three years ago, and he collapses. 19 proceeds to absorb all of Goku's energy and life force by strangling him to unconsiousness.
Suddenly, 19 receives a kick in the head and is sent flying aside. Fuming, he gets up and sees the one who will be his next opponent: Vegeta. Believing that Vegeta is just as weak as Goku, 19 arrogantly challenges the Saiyan, and receives a shock when Vegeta transforms into a Super Saiyan before his own eyes.
19 battles Vegeta, but with Vegeta's mercilessness, 19 is batted around by the Saiyan Prince until he finally grabs hold of Vegeta's arms claiming that "Until I have gathered all your energy, I will never let you go!"
But Vegeta kicks 19 hard in the face, ripping off his arms. Now terrified, 19 runs for his life, but Vegeta mercilessly finishes 19 off by shooting him from the sky with a Big Bang attack.
Finally, 19's smoking head emerges from the explosion.
Dragon Ball GT
Super Hell Fighter 17 Saga
Android 19 is shown again in GT where Goten and Trunks blast an alley. Once again, 19's severed head is the only thing that emerges from the ensuing explosion. He is seen once again in a flashback during the final episode of GT, side-by-side with Pui-Pui, both firing energy beams.
Video games
Android 19 has appeared as a playable character in the video games Dragon Ball Z: Budokai, Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi, and Dragon Ball Z: Legendary Super Warriors. He is also in Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 2.
