Thanks for reverting those edits on Two Qiaos. I won't be around until Sunday, so can you help me keep an eye on any new changes on the article? Thanks. :) Lonelydarksky (暗無天日) contact me (聯絡) 14:57, 12 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Unfortunately, as you can see on the top of this page and my relative lack of activity in the past few months, I am still on vacation and can only be of limited help :( But I'll try to do all that I can. _dk (talk) 16:44, 12 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Three Kingdoms people lists

[edit]

Hello, please take a look at User:Lonelydarksky/Sandbox/List of people of the Three Kingdoms and User:Lonelydarksky/Sandbox/List of fictional characters of the Three Kingdoms period. What do you think? For the first page, I haven't thought about what to include under the description column. Any ideas? Lonelydarksky (暗無天日) contact me (聯絡) 08:46, 12 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry for the late reply. Well, I think it would be better to combine all tables into one, and add the columns for "Allegiance" (for whose side they're on), "Role" (for 'general', 'warlord', 'advisor', 'royalty', etc), and "Style name" (since it's pretty handy). "Description", I think, can be omitted since the articles' lead sections cover that part pretty well. And the Chinese names being sortable is not very useful in an English wiki (not to mention sorting Chinese characters itself is a messy business), so I suggest merging that column with the English name column. As for the fictional list, I don't really think it's a good idea to include Ravages of Time (though it's a very good manhua) and others, since a list that purports to include any and all fictional characters of the period is not manageable. Rather, I think it's better to limit the list to Romance only, and leave the rest to be covered by the relevant category. Then the fictional list can be put into one single sortable table as well. My two cents. _dk (talk) 17:16, 14 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Mythic Wars

[edit]

I've noticed that we've edited some articles together. Have you ever played a browser game called "Mythic Wars"? I played that game several years ago and I remember that there was someone with a name very similar to yours who was playing at the time. I think it would be a very curious coincidence if it was you.Ferox Seneca (talk) 03:21, 28 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Sun Ce's conquest of Wu territory

[edit]

Hi, check out my recent additions to the article. I don't quite agree with the article title. I don't think the "Wu territory" in the title sufficiently describes the extent of the lands conquered by Sun Ce. The title used on Chinese Wikipedia, translated to Sun Ce's war of pacification in Jiangdong, is not very accurate, since it wasn't a war to "pacify" Jiangdong. It was more of a conquest or campaign in nature. How about Sun Ce's conquests in Jiangdong or similar variations? Any ideas? Lonelydarksky (暗無天日) contact me (聯絡) 16:54, 18 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Good job on the expansions. I also had long considered "Wu territory" in the title as vague, but never got around to do anything about it. That said, Sun Ce's conquests in Jiangdong is a fine title. _dk (talk) 20:15, 18 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Battle of Xiaoyao Ford

[edit]

Hi, check out User:Lonelydarksky/Sandbox/Battle of Xiaoyao Ford. I'll move it into the mainspace if it's fine. Any idea what to do with the current Battle of Hefei? I'm thinking of converting it into a dab page. Lonelydarksky (暗無天日) contact me (聯絡) 04:55, 10 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Very good, the only thing I can see is missing is an immediate motive why Sun Quan wanted to invade Hefei, but that information will need to be found in secondary sources. And yes, Battle of Hefei should turn into a dab page when all have been split. _dk (talk) 07:39, 10 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hanzhong Campaign

[edit]

Hi, please take a look at User:Lonelydarksky/Sandbox/Hanzhong Campaign. Is it ready to be moved into the mainspace yet? I still feel it lacks refs though. Lonelydarksky (暗無天日) contact me (聯絡) 04:30, 30 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah I've read it, by all means move it into mainspace! If the lack of references stops articles from being created then our wikiproject would just have 10 articles lol _dk (talk) 06:44, 30 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Do you have any idea where the term "Five Wu Elders" originated from? "吳大老" doesn't seem to make any sense at all. Besides, Five Elite Generals (五子良將) used to be titled "Five Wei Generals" when there isn't even a mention of "Wei" in the Chinese term at all. I suspect that the "Five Wu Elders" may have originated from some Three Kingdoms fan discussion instead of an established source. Any thoughts? Lonelydarksky (暗無天日) contact me (聯絡) 07:43, 1 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I also came across "四英將" (Zhou Yu, Lu Su, Lü Meng, Lu Xun) while doing a search. Lonelydarksky (暗無天日) contact me (聯絡) 07:48, 1 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Frankly, I have no idea (or I forgot), and I have personal doubts about these collective terms' notability (or actuality) _dk (talk) 07:54, 1 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Should we do a WP:PROD for Five Wu Elders? Lonelydarksky (暗無天日) contact me (聯絡) 10:26, 1 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Battle of Macau

[edit]

For the Battle of Macau article, I was assessing it for inclusion in Wikipedia:Selected anniversaries/June 24 but had to omit it because of the lack of footnotes in that one section. I'm sorry I don't have time to throw {{cn}} tags in the appropriate places. Ideally, you should have at least one citation per paragraph in there, so if you can do that, I can add it to the pool for consideration next year. Thanks. howcheng {chat} 17:00, 24 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Aw, that's a bummer. There is only one paragraph without a citation, I'll do something about that in the near future. Thanks for the notification. _dk (talk) 02:14, 25 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Lu Su

[edit]

Any ideas on how to write a "In fiction" section for Lu Su? I was thinking of using some of the more memorable stories involving Lu Su from the novel to reflect how he was portrayed the novel as compared to in actual history. Lonelydarksky (暗無天日) contact me (聯絡) 11:21, 8 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Maybe provide some context about him as a character foil used between Zhuge Liang and Zhou Yu, his bumbling personality as portrayed in the novel, and definitely add in his role in Guan Yu's 單刀赴會 to further strengthen that last point. _dk (talk) 18:42, 8 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for your suggestion. Lonelydarksky (暗無天日) contact me (聯絡) 04:33, 9 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I've written a brief overview of Lu Su's role in the novel, but I'm not sure whether it's accurate or not. Do you mind helping me with the details? (see Lu Su#In fiction) Thanks. Lonelydarksky (暗無天日) contact me (聯絡) 05:12, 9 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not so versed in the novel (I've only read it once ten years ago) so I can't check whether the details are accurate at a glance, but it looks okay so far. Good luck! _dk (talk) 09:48, 9 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Wasn't really looking for sources.

[edit]

79.75.218.116 is the latest in a series of IPs, presumably all belonging to the same person, that has been changing people's birth & death dates for no reason. See also: 80.42.233.130, 80.42.229.169, 80.42.239.106, 80.42.236.235, 80.42.235.17, and 80.42.227.142.

--Skywatcher68 (talk) 23:17, 15 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I understand. These unsourced insertion of (mostly fictional) dates are a rampant problem in biographical articles on the Three Kingdoms, and I figured that if a reputable source is added it would deter some of these changes or make it easier for editors who have to decide if they should be reverted. _dk (talk) 23:56, 15 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Help needed

[edit]

I'm currently doing an overhaul for List of fictitious stories in Romance of the Three Kingdoms. If you've time, I hope you can render some assistance. Thanks a lot! Lonelydarksky (暗無天日) contact me (聯絡) 12:22, 17 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Sure, what's your vision on how it should look like in the end? _dk (talk) 18:46, 17 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
A more or less complete list of all the fictitious stories in the novel, with a section catered to each story, as per the current format used in the article. Each section giving a brief overview of the story in the novel, without going into too excessive detail, followed by accompanying text explaining the differences between accounts from historical sources (mainly SGZ) and the story. The historical source should be quoted in the original Chinese text whenever possible, no English translations from kongming.net or whatsoever (try Chinese Wikisource instead). So let's see, we'll end up with a very long list in the notes and references section. :) Lonelydarksky (暗無天日) contact me (聯絡) 19:02, 17 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Please take your time to look through my work on the article (starting from the top) and make any necessary edits. I'm roughly done up to Zhou Yu tricks Jiang Gan. I'll continue several hours later, need to catch some sleep for now. Lonelydarksky (暗無天日) contact me (聯絡) 19:11, 17 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Deadkid dk. Do you know something more about this pastry/cake? Would you mind to help with the article? The Chinese sources are hardly translatable, but I think it is a subject worthy of inclusion here. Btw, all the English sources I found call it a cake, but you are right, the images I found here reminds me more of a pastry :) Best regards. Vejvančický (talk | contribs) 06:23, 20 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, yeah. The pastry is currently a popular dim sum where I live, so I have them pretty often. The Chinese Wikipedia cites a Xinhua article though [1], it goes into a bit of history, so it might be helpful. Other than that, I'm afraid I can't add any more in terms of reliable sources. Cheers. _dk (talk) 06:39, 20 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

This one has only been contributing for two months and already has a couple of vandalism-related comments, which were quickly removed from the Talk page by the IP. Bears watching to see if any warnings get incurred and if they get removed as well. --Skywatcher68 (talk) 23:08, 16 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I have reverted some of the stuff he did, like when he did wholesale changes to include Shu Han as part of the Han Dynasty when the academic consensus suggests otherwise. I think, rather than vandalism, this removed comment hit the nail in the head about his behaviour. _dk (talk) 07:47, 17 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
